This is meanwhile a piece of history: our live performance from 1998, the same one which got released on our CD by EMI/Virgin Classics 2000 (in the moment of this recording definitely unplanned). Saved from my mouldering S-VHS video cassette.

A virtuoso such as Božo Paradžik performs this as easily as the rest of tie our shoe laces. This performance will cause some people to begin taking double bass lessons. I hope.

The whole trick with this piece is that it’s only hard if you make it hard, keeping your hand relaxed is the biggest challenge, but if you do that the piece will be three times easier

Jeremiah... Yes, he does a good job on the phrases; he doesn't simply play the notes but gives each phrase its own expression. I'll bet the composer would like this performance.

What is the rationale for the knuckle fingering at 6:57 in the tarantella? 😅

Oh, the harmonic? Rotation over the thumb axis and touching the harmonic with the "wrong" size of the index finger is the closest way to reach it. It saves one huge shifting by nominally staying in the same position. It is a very non-standard fingering, I've invented it when I was a student 😊

Bravo Bojo aaa Ako ti ovaj nacin svirke bude muster i tehnicki i tonski a narocito VIBRATO (pocetak laganog dijela u Tarantelli) onda ces jos puno god. biti naj naj. Dakle po mome skromnom misljenju ta "SITNICA" tj vibrato sa lijepim i tananim nijansama kresenda (kad ides prema gore i obrnuto) je nesto sto moze odsvirati samo izuzetno nadaren muzicar i nemoze se silom nabiflati.
