nice vid bro!! especially the audio your sound is so clean at first when you start to walk i thought my volume was zero..then when you start to talk i was amazed..lol
The long hair suits you really well by the way. I only just now realized "Oh, that's the same guy whose older videos I watched just a couple of days ago!"
Josh, thank you so much for sharing these tips. I will be purchasing a Glidecam and have no idea where to start. These tips will are super helpful and will save me so much time. So appreciated! Will definitely be rewatching this video upon purchase.
Ive watched tons of glidecam tutorial type videos and it was when I watched this one and put it to use that i felt like I finally have a grasp on using my flycam jr! Thank you!
Very useful video. It reinforced the importance of stuff that I already knew but wasn't practising correctly AND introduced new very useful techniques. Thank you - you are a star!
great series! I will say that it would be helpful if we had a video on how you built your steadicam. I think the biggest trouble people tend to have is finding a steadicam that is as easy to micro adjust as yours, so it would be a great help
I found out that Sony 28-70 kit lens is so light that you can refocus it and zoom in and out without rebalancing the whole thing. Also this lens rocks for filming if you'll be using a camera that can handle dark lenses like Sony a7s series. Since that lens starts from 3.5 aperture. Also kit lens has noiseless refocusing which will save your videos.
What do u recommend Traditional steadicam with 2 weight (like glidecam hd1000) or with 3 weight (like iFootage Wildcat II)? What is difference? (i think that 3 weight steadicam seems little wobblier than traditional 2 weight steadicam)
First! Just kidding, is that a Laing P-0 something? Have you used the glidecam xr-pro? Both are the same price on amazon. Thank you for sharing the secrets Josh.
Any chance you 'd be willing to share which units you got the pieces from? I'm especially curious about the sled (I believe that's what it's called.... the piece on which the camera is mounted). I really like the fact that there is only one locking screw and one adjustment screw.
question: If I want to track something coming towards me but want an upward angle for the whole shot, can I deliberately unbalance the Steadicam so it naturally tilts back and upwards or will it not work ? Thanks
i just bought a glidecam 200 hd for my sony a6500. have you used that combination. ive had some trouble balancing. do you know if its because the camera is so small?
I have a question about my steadicam! So I am pretty sure I have it balanced and the drop test times at about seconds. But when I use it I feel like I don't have any control on the direction that it goes! It just pans and swivels as I walk. I don't really know what else to try. Do I just need practice? Any tips would be much appreciated!
Good video and helpful tipps. thx man. But bro... cmon 😄 „glide cam secrets that no glide cam operator wants to share with you ...“???!! Haha ... that’s a bit over the top ... There are many cam operators that would share these informations. Anyway... it’s a helpful Video, appreciate it:)
