HYPOXIA FILM: Video from Os Aero Club's yearly spring camp at Voss, Norway. With the best spring weather recorded since 1968, we had a great time flying in the mountainous terrain in western Norway. Enjoy! www.osaeroklubb.no
Thank you for that answer, as I had the same question. Superb flying: I'm mostly a flat-land pilot, though the South Island of New Zealand is a similar place to yours.
@Ibchuma we had Thermals in March 2013. and almost everything was covered in snow exept some rocks - and the thermals above those kicked ass!! 2013 was a killer season! To good to be true :D
It's a bit of everything, usually. This Easter thought, the wind were completely calm and we mostly relied on thermals. Snow is of course a bad source of thermals , but it creates great contrasts to the non-snowy areas. :-)
Twabourne & Louis LLP I know that most of the times in the alps are small spaces made for plane emergency landings, so you dont have to fly to destination fucked
Lehmann Peters at that speed you have so much energy that you easily can get several hundreds of feet up if you get in to sink. Also we never fly in the mountains without a plan A and B and even plan C to safe landing.
