Thesmus To say something got annoying after 2.3 seconds is to say it was annoying during every point of time that took place after the 2.3rd second. However there wasn’t any sound effects during the 2.4th second either. or the 2.5th, or the 2.6th, or the 2.7th or the 2.8th or the 2.9th. The first sound effect doesn’t happen until around the 3rd second. So it would have been more accurate for him to say the sound effects got annoying after about 3 seconds.
@@lil_foot_lettuce you won't be annoyed when you haven't even heard the sound; their context was the sound effects, therefore you start counting when the sound effects started...
Of course, the shortest distance will be a straight line, viewed from both first person perspective and on the map. In non-Euclidean geometry, that straight line will still be a straight line but only from your view, on the map however, it's curved. Plus things there doesn't seem right, like objects shrinking exponentially as you go further away in hyperbolic (as opposed to inversely proportional to distance in Euclidean).
Good lighting renders do not a puzzle game make. 🤷♂️ Edit: also the floor textures slide to the right as they're walking down the twisted hall, which might have been an oversight but either way I can't unsee it, now.
Screw the naked footstep sound. When the player kept walking into the pit in the last scene - that made me furious! I said out loud “walk further sideways dammit there’s a pit!!” but they just kept walking forward a bit while strafing....
This game truly captures the essence of what it would feel like to wake up in a museum with no memories and two tiny duck feet at the end of your legs.
You know what's the creppy part about it? The sound effects put on complete silence... and the fact that the character has they hands tied up. And they have asylum clothes. It's crazy and creppy
@@ambrosia3907 Yup, it's still a Euclidean space with portals incorporated into the design. Wanna a true non-Euclidean world? Hyperbolica... just wait until it gets released.
Nice art style, but this isn't non-euclidean. "Non-euclidean-esque" literally doesn't mean anything, like saying it's "non-Minecraft-esque" or "non-Real-Life-esque". Also the game looks actually really boring.
@Michael Darrow THAT'S THE POINT YET YOU HAD A YEAR TO READ THIS BUT NO YOU JUST COULDN'T HAD RUBBBED YOUR 2 BRAINCELLS ONCE AND GO ON WITH YOUR DAY WITHOUT EMBARRASSING YOURSELF YOU JUST COULDN'T DO THAT FOR GOD SAKES
This was once mistakenly identified as a 'non-euclidean' game. It's not the game's fault, it's the person that made this video's fault. By the way, the tunnel at the end could be described as 'non-euclidean' since the dist(x,y,z,x1,y1,z1) function looks pretty wonky to me... not the regular euclidean distance function of (x-x1)^2+(y-y1)^2+(z+z1)^2. But I wouldn't know... You don't have to act like the expert, you know, you can just talk about the game, that's all.
Ok no but I'm actually excited for this to be fully completed, I love weird puzzle games, I've downloaded the demo and am eagerly awaiting the final release
I don't know why but this scares me. A lot. I'm sure I'm going to dream about this. It is difficult to explain, but if anxiety could be physically represented, it would be this way.
1. 0:43, if I saw that I'd think that would qualify as 'unreal' 2. 1:18, can you explain how this does not disobey the laws of physics??? What happened to gravity, please? 3. 3:45, the guy is walking in a straight line, yet he ends up horizontal to his previous position... can you explain how this makes sense given euclidean geometry? 4. 3:45 again, the way this guy moves through space is very strange, just how the way the water moves in the 'Waterfall' lithograph by Escher... it goes in a straight lines, but ends up in an inexplicable position in relation to it's beginning place... Love to hear back from you, Exxelenen Setijadi
Exxelenen Setijadi Yes, I stand corrected, after rereading your comment, I realized that I completely read it sideways, and assumed you said things that you didn’t say... oopsie doopsie
Huh, well this is an interesting one. I think if anything were to change, I wish the direction of the game would be clearer, and easier to understand. It all just seems meaninglessly random in so many ways. That and the glitchy graphics and sound effects. It doesn’t seem like anyone really likes them :p
If y'all are gonna be THAT specific though... gravity is a consequence of non-Euclidean geometry, according to General Relativity. And yes I know the game engine does not simulate gravity nor the space that way, but just saying.
hi! I'm really interested in this project. It is awesome! Is there any possible to share the project with me to helping me for my final project for school? (About the unity project)Please let me know if this is a possibility. Thanks a lot!
People in the comments bitching about sound when the game is about wander in an unstable reality. Is supposed to be weird and make you feel uncomfortable. Is like complaining about guns malfunctioning in a WW2 game.
