I actually kinda liked the raspy voice Yayoi had in the English dub. Oddly enough I think it fit her character perfectly. Since she is naturally shy and soft spoken, she doesn't have much bass in her voice because she never really spoke up until she joined the group. Then when she had her moments of speaking up, her voice would start to get a little cracked because she's not use to raising her voice. So I kind of think that voice was perfect for her. Just my opinion though. Honestly I think all the girls voice actors were fine. Laura Bailey is a magical girl herself, so of course naturally she's gonna fit in. The rest of them were alright, nothing stood out from them to me. Candy I swear is the cutest thing in either dub, so that was a plus.

The thing that bothers me about Glitter Force is that people are now thinking the old Smile Precure is the dub, and when the Smile team is featured in All Stars movies, it is Glitter Force having a crossover with another show!

Well, I don't blame them for thinking that right away, so it doesn't bother me in any way. I mean, after all they knew it as the glitter force version first, not to mention just like me, and they xan think of it that way just like I did. Because technically the are the same show, glitter force is a relatable from smile precure, which relates to the rest. So in a way it is that way. Because also there are a lot, nut just animes but other cartoons around the world that changed to a diferent point of view for others, whether they are adaptations or simple changes in dubs.

Yeah, I don't mind this dub either. Though the first episode kept giving me flashbacks to the DiC dub of Sailor Moon. Which makes it more ironic that Cloe/Breeze is voiced by Ami/Mercury's newest dub actress.

Yeah, and not only that, I don't know this for sure, but I am positive that the actress who voices regina in glitter force doki doki, is the same one who voices the new sailor venus in english too, since their voices sound like the same one, and so does April's in glitter force, and Naru in the same dub of sailor moon, since they also sound the same. But I do know for sure that Debbie Derriberry, who voices candy, and maya from doki doki, voices diana in the same dub of sailor moon too, because I found that out, and I could also tell that her voice sounded like maya's right away, as well as the others.

@@marlablanco8853 - Yeah Venus’ Viz dub va is Regina which is ironic cause they’re both blondes that wear a big red bow. Also in that Ira is voiced by Ben Diskin which is ironic due the fact that he voiced Numbuh One in KND and Ira’s 13.

Even Stephanie Sheh (Voice of Sailor Moon 🌙) was actually the same voice actress for Cure Spade ♠️ & it was pretty dope as far as easter eggs goes. & I heard Amanda Miller (Voice of Sailor Jupiter) was originally going to voice Cure March/Glitter Spring but ended up backing out. So they gave the role to Danielle Judovits (Voice of Naru Osaka) instead. & I’m glad they didn’t make all the Sailor Moon cast to similar to the Glitter Force cast other than Sailor Mercury/Glitter Breeze because it wouldn’t have worked for me.

The real only complaint I have for this adaptation is the music. I really enjoyed the transformation music in the original version. Oh, and darkening the screens from time to time. The colors are some of the best I have ever seen.

I am still *furious* they cut out that one beautifully touching Peace episode. Easily my favorite out of the season, and Yayoi isn't even my favorite character. As for other major complaints, mostly about the dramatic darkening of random scenes, annoyingly cheesy lines they say during transformations and a few about the incessant random and nonsensical name changes (what's wrong with calling Candy a fairy? or the original Cure names? I'm genuinely confused). Oh yeah, and that one spoiler-filled scene they decided to include as the very first scene of the very first episode. Filled a few plotholes, spoiled all the transformations and their Princess forms... yeah no. Other then all that, I can somewhat stand the dub. Several of the episodes were actually done quite well. 4Kids did worst, but hell yeah, Saban could have done much better.

One reason they may have skipped the Comedy Duo episode is they may not have had the rights to use it due to license reasons. Honestly the only reason I see for them still doing 20 per season was they were originally going to air on Nick, then switched last moment to Netflix. I also hope this opens the way for more series, I haven't had this much fun stuff to watch since Fox kids and Kids WB were still things.

yo homeboy I felt mostly the same way about this dub. i'm still a slight bit upset that they stole the name cure breeze but I'll get over it eventually. it's surprising how well the genre shots translated so well. a good number of those lines had me actually laughing pretty hard. the voice acting did exactly what it was supposed to do which was grow on you after you adapt to the fact that it's in English. also did you notice that they toned down some of the DBZ-esque action in certain episodes?

Who come there are people supporting and defending these bad dubs have they forgotten what 4Kids did to the anime shows they touched? These people who are supporting Glitter Force is concrete proof that there were people supporting the 4Kids dub of One Piece.

Actually, I think the reason behind the third skipped episode is because of the name changes. In the original episode, they discuss the meanings behind each of the girls' names. Since they have western names in the adaptation, it prevents them from adapting the context of the episode.

The only thing that pisses me off about glitter force is that they called it a netflix original. The first time i saw that while watching made me upset because they just dubbed an anime whats so original about that? But anyways you've made me slightly open up the door of opportunity for watching glitter force

3:59/4:00 I LOVE Akaoni (Brute)! He's such a silly guy and an absolute cutie as a pixie. He's my favorite character, and honestly, Toei Animation did him dirty. He has minimal merchandise, coming down to a handful of playing cards and a collectible button pin. Also his pixie form as Oninin is ADORABLE. He deserved more screen time.

As for not skipping the creepy expressions of when Joker was gathering Bad/Negative Energy for Pierott from the PreCure, it was kinda necessary cuz, you know... It sorta impossible to skip the scene without the story getting messed up or whatever, so yeaaaahhhhh...

Don't say it is garbage!! You might not want it to happen, but it's just a personal opinion for liking the glitter force show in her perspective, and wouldn't mind to see more of that show itself, like any anime show my just first find or like for itself

That won't EVER happen the Glitter Force dubs of Smile and Doki Doki Precure still FAILED the only GOOD dub was Futari Wa but not only did it air only in Canada it still FAILED as a DUB EVEN then so even as of this year 2023 out of the 20 TOTAL Precure seasons Japan still has those 3 crappy dubs of Futari Wa Smile and Doki Doki are still the ONLY ENGLISH DUBS. So the other 17 seasons soon 18 by 2024 will NEVER get another English dub any time SOON IF EVER.

Glitter Force is underrated. It is a good show that just makes some silly mistakes some times. Let’s go over the voice acting. Emily’s voice actor is great and totally believable with emotional speeches and is really deep and fitting and honestly sounds like a leader. It is great voice but can sometimes be to high pitched and artifactial but most of the t8me great Kelsey has a great playful voice 8 just wish she could have a unquie accent like Akane. Lily has a cute interesting low pitched voice but I understand why people might get annoyed with her sometimes. Aphril has the one of the bes5 voice acting jobs. She has a fitting deep high pitched voice. Chloe pretty much the same. Pop is same does not always do well with emotional moments. Candy’s can be annoying but overall cute. The villians are very well acted especially Brooha and Ulric. Brute has a unique vocie of a du,b muscle character. Rascal is good to. The main villian’s vocie is terrible though. It just sounds like an old grandpa. Overall a solid cast. My complaints are sometimes they take away episodes for stupid reasons. Most are forgivable but sometimes they make silly mistakes and take away f7ne episodes like the Akane episode or Yayoi episode. My complaints are that Kelsey is blander than her Japanese counterpart and Lily keeps most of her character development but not all. Sometimes Glitter Force episodes are heavily edited and make stupid edits but most are just silly mistakes but most are still fun even when heavily edited. Overall Glitter Force is a good show that just makes some silly mistakes. Still way better than Glitter Force Doki Doki.

In my opinion, for an adaption glitter force was great by itself, if you just found that one out first like I did and others.Later finding out about precure, I could see that there was more to it, and I know that it is original, but finding that out after glitter force makes it like a japanese more good version of glitter force than it is with extra stuff added, so it just makes me like glitter force and smile precure equally, but it's not helped by the fact that then I later find out about the hate on glitter force for the dub that it is that people can't just see that it's nice, and start giving insults that go into my head and makes my think otherwise, so I get like affected by it. I will only admit that later knowing that it was adapted, they change it and you could say somewhat smaller like, but just by finding it out by itself, was good or great for the simple show or dub, or adaption that it is.

I actually like Glitter Force. It's still cute, and I generally prefer dubs vs subs, and it did get me back into Pretty Cure (Futari Wa Pretty Cure was dubbed in English, but that's when I stopped Pretty Cure).

I thought this was a pretty good adaptation. People expecting a straight up dub of Smile are gonna be disappointed. Otherwise, this works for what it is. Seeing the ratings for this show is telling. 90% of all the negative comments on Netflix are weeaboos going "WATCH PRECURE SUBTITLED! THEY MURDERED IT!" The comments praising the show are well... the exact same people they're aiming this for! I'd say they did a great job. I'd even go out and say Glitter Force > Smile.

I don't think "weeaboos" is thr correct term.. just people who thought these kind of dubs only existed during the 90s :l To be honest I think they did butcher this series but as long as they don't touch Go! Princess precure then I'm fine.. The music in that season is fine and shouldn't get redone like smile did X.x

Butcher? How did they butcher? The overall tone of the series is still the same and the general story is still there too. They messed up with the Rock Paper Scissors I agree, but what else is there? This is　a　Power　Rangers　styled　adaptation,　not　a　straight　up　dub.　This　worked,　and　I　find　it　an　improvement.　　Also, Go Princess is very likely the next series if they decide to go with another one. Very simple, the series did well in Japan (one of the best in a few years in overall performance), and Princesses are very marketable. I'll be here to enjoy your tears

Why not? They weeded out weak episodes. I am still bothered that they didn't have the Yayoi's Father Is Dead episode, but compared to everything else I'd say the changes were good. The Asia Pacific Expo from Kyoto is a dumb edit. At least say you're taking a plane to Kyoto or something. The way I see it, they kept quite A LOT in. They got rid of those horrible Comedian episodes, and they kept the general mood of an action packed, but funny show for girls. I think THIS is the best way to introduce kids to anime. There are better dubs out there, like Yokai Watch's dub. But this isn't a dub. It's an adaptation. A Power Rangers styled ADAPTATION. Very different. All the people who are mad are close minded individuals who are upset it's not Japanese anymore.

As much as it is unappreciative. I still love Glitter Force & I’ll love it for all eternity & I don’t care if it gets me hate in the long run. & I’ll be honest I was 50/50 with some episodes getting omitted. Miyuki/Emily is my favorite character & I’ve know I’m beating on a dead horse on this. But Toei animations treated her very unfairly & consistently threw her under the bus just cause of a common trope. & that’s what really grinds my gears because of some biased favoritism towards another character. Something that’ll I’ll never forgive Toei for what they did to her. I still can’t fathom that Nao/April did get enough character development & I know why. Toei animations has hatred for the color green I swear. & Märchenland/Jubiland definitely needed more screen time than what we were given.

Well if you ask me, from my point of view, knowing glitter force first, rock paper soccer's sounded like it went to far of, childish more cringy plain line than puppies and kittens and the power of love, compared to eachother. As soon as I heard that in japanese , I thought it wasn't even close as normal as the first, and though it bothered me at first, I kinda got used to it, but it doesn't mean I exactly like it in anyway, again in my opinion, and I'd prefer the other one better. There are probably other original glitter force fans, that might agree, and I can picture them

+Nuruddin Shah Laura Bailey is best known for voicing Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket, Kid Trunks in DBZ and Lust in FMA/Brotherhood. She's one of Funimation's biggest voice actors. You can find her in a lot of their work. Like Todd.

I watched the whole series, and I take back the comment I made. The title could be better, but the anime is pretty good. The dubbing and other changes are not something I have any peeves with because I grew up with anime that was localized. The plot lines are episodic and corny, however the dubbed version sometimes pokes fun at the clichés of the magical girl anime which I found funny. Toward the season finales, they give a very good message about friendship, love and never giving up on making a "happy ending" no matter how dark and scary life can get.

i really enjoyed this dub it ant bad it took few episode to used to. thing is this is an adaption dub not straight out dub what i think toei who been trying to get pretty cute localized in the west for year even going as far as having dub trailer of yes pretty cure 5 on line for a license expo but failed but toei teaming up with Saban like always and given the chance to adaption dub the anime plus the fact Saban dubed anime before adapting toku with samurai pizza cats digimon a so many other during the 80 and even helped dubbing dragon ball z i think this was a good adaption of a new franchise by saban so i cant wait for the second batch of episode.

I just finished watching Season 1, and I'm surprised at how much it's grown on me! The first 6-7 episodes were kind of meh and I almost stopped watching just because it was so predictable. It was better after that though. I probably would have liked if they didn't change the civilian names, but I think the English glitter force names are better with the exception of Breeze. it's because they changed her name, and for an episode focused on the name of the characters you can't really do any thing about that, But I still hate Glitter Force and I felt like shooting myself in the head after the first episode, maybe I just like Smile precure that much and fuck the opening I hate it.

Hey, the opening is not bad bu itself. If you knew glitter force first like I did and saw that opening for the first time, you would have the chance to think that it sounded just as nice, and wouldn't expect to be longer when you wouldn't know smile precure to compare it to or the songs, so don't curse it

I didn't even know glitter force existed until I saw this video. Also if we gonna compare based on the words smile wins at least the lyrics actually means something. For me, Glitter Force got me into the PreCure franchise and I think they skipped the episodes because their was too much Japanese stuff in it and if they did it would be bad. But they could have at least told us Kelsey had a brother.

Honestly, I REALLY LOVED GLITTER FORCE, BEFORE PRECURE MESSED UP MY MIND ABOUT IT LATER KNOWINH IT. It deserves to be loved for the show it self, and what it's about rather than being unfairly compared, when it is basically the same show, with the same story and stuff happening. The reason I didn't want to like precure, was specifically because I didn't wanted it to make me think otherwise for glitter force, and make it see that it looks stupid as comparision. So I didn't feel comfortable even giving precure a shot l, which was totally fair. Also, I too agree that the over-crying scenes where annoyng, and that glitter force was heart-warming enough, and I thought it was emotional enough, and was strong in the end, being sad but with hope at the same time, and I couldn't have asked for more. I didn't need anymore seriousness, and not nessacary to ask for it, when it's already good enough. But for some reason, people then and now a days, are trying to make that look totally dumb, when people appreciate precure's emotional touchingness afterwards. Which is what bothers me about liking this, that it is not very fairly. I can understand to like how precure is the way it is, but it just makes me feel uncomfortable for glitter force when I think about ot, which is why I feel like I want to forget about it's goodness

this is a very old and tired argument. sailor moon is a part of the magical girl genre, which is a genre of anime about teams of teenage girls transforming into superpowered forms to fight evil. sailor moon was not even the first example of this genre, the genre was more than 20 years old by the time sailor moon came out - sailor moon is just the most well known one in the west because it was the first one dubbed into english.
