Beautiful cup! I think spray sealing the glitter would save you a lot of time and tedious epoxying though! I use a matte clear before epoxying over any of my glitter cups and it helps prevent movement

Love Love the cup!! Thank you for sharing, I love your videos!! I have done about 40 tumblers but not a beach theme, I am very intimidated by the beach cup for some reason. I was wondering. Do you epoxy after you Decal? I always do but I want this cup to fit into a car cup holder.

I've done a Camo swirl on a cup how come or how do you stop the paint from repelling from the edges of the bottom and the rim ? I don't mind so much from it doing it on the rim I'm just trying for keep the color on the bottom rim and I prep and prime it also before epoxy

richa sharma yes, you want to make sure the surface is smooth. it’s good to wipe the tumbler down with alcohol after sanding as well!

First of all thank you for such a detail video! Cup is so pretty. I notice that you wipe your gloves after you applied epoxy to each color of glitter. You don’t seal yours before applying epoxy? And if you do apply a sealer does it matter if you apply to separate glitters?

I do not seal the glitter and just apply each color with a clean or different finger this allows the glitter not to mix as much. The epoxy under the glitter acts as a very strong adhesive. There is no sealing involved when you apply glitter with the epoxy method.

I've noticed you add your epoxy over your glitter after only a few hours of spinning. Are you using a fast drying epoxy or does it not have to be 100% dry before applying your second coat?

The epoxy coat that I used to apply the glitter is so thin(as thin as adhesive) the epoxy dries enough under the glitter for me to be able to apply the epoxy over the glitter without any problem I hope this helps

Good afternoon, I have a question I'm still in rookie status but I have made and sold a lot of tumblers. My question is; I usually put my glitter on using mod podge, I just ordered a beach theme kit and was looking for tutorials and everyone used epoxy. Can I use mos podge to do the beach theme?? Thanks

From my understanding is epoxy gives more time to do the glitter where as the mod podge dries faster so you have to work faster. I believe either method is fine, it’s personal preference ☺️ someone can correct me if I’m wrong. I’m a newbie as well.

After your last step you did on the video, and I put a decal on it. Do I apply another layer of epoxy?

I add a second layer of epoxy to my decals and heat both with the heat gun for a few just to make sure it’s completely smooth.

Question, I used chunky glitter so do I still need to skip the sanding part? I currently have mine spinning to apply the wave effect and add some white glitter beside it. And another thing, can I combine mica powder and acrylic paint together for the waves? Thank you!

Depends on where the scratches are.. if the scratches are on the stainless steel, there is no way to buff them out. If they are on a designed epoxy tumbler, you can sand that area down lightly using 220 sanding block. Then epoxy over. The scratches should be out.

Make sure you spread your epoxy evenly around your tumbler.

Add some adhesive to only the area you want the glitter to be. Either a small amount of epoxy, mod podge or another adhesive you may use.

Meagan stacy are you serious? What an ignorant comment! It is called a PPE. It is absolutely necessary to her health and safety when using epoxy! Next time don’t show your ignorance or announce your departure because no one cares 🙄
