I watched the first 3 episodes in theaters, and it was something. The beginning of it they had an interview with the manga creator and voice actors, and they pretty much said that its going to be confusing and just nonsense but still very entertaining and fun. For me It felt like the first 3 episodes were the prologue.

Funny to hear that the "... drawings aren't super polished, but the animation is clean..." because I would say behind Berserk, this manga has the most insanely amazing panels and spreads that I've seen in manga, particularly in the aspects of how easy they are to read and clean the panels are while being fantastically intricate. Granted I'm not a supremely well-versed manga reader myself, sticking generally only to ones known to be great, or manga of shows I like but it's still a fair number. It's really cool to see the show actually lean into other aspects, and let the coolness of the designs & concepts speak for the mangaka's drawing sense by themselves. I always will advocate for making the most out of the medium the story's being told in, so the willingness to change the focus is very fun.

LMAO Adonis you know I was about to get on you if this wasn't released ASAP on YT. This Fall is already making history in this era and as a manga reader, this entire series is a masterpiece of the genre entirely. I still have to reread parts to just sit and reflect the levels of work done that transforms certain themes or characters into a work of art. I'm not gonna gas it up too much until we're deep in several episodes, but DAM DAM DAM this is potential AOTY contender.

As someone who's preeeetty damn critical of english dubs, this one is honestly snapping. The VA choices and deliveries are really on point. Not to mention, the localization of slang and translation is actually more accurate than the current subs that I've seen for it.

The dub is surprisingly not bad. It was jarring hearing "occult-kun" in plain English though, not sure why they did that. I'll continue watching this in sub because it was still better, but I applaud this dub team for a rare W.

Hey Adonis, I get you on the English version for comedic animes. 👍🏾 Was the same way for me with Saiki K (funniest anime, imo). The English dubs simply work better. The Sub were too difficult to keep up with, plus the jokes didn't land the same (for an English audience). If you haven't seen that anime "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K," I highly recommend it. 👌🏾

I prefer the dub for this one. VA has some great casting in both cases, but I think the dub dialogue choices flow better in English than the Netflix/Crunchy subtitled lines.

16:27 Yeah people said the same about Konosuba. Since the English cast was great, it was better for the comedy to actually hear the joke and punch line rather than read it and get the timing off. Either getting to the punchline ahead or too late.
