In my opinion those who find this accessory unnecessary or beyond the reach of usefulness have not thought it through. Those who may have a disability that has kept them from riding can now participate, those who have problems with the weight of the bike at long lights can now rest instead of straining. This accessory is much less expensive than a trike conversion and will add to a riders confidence and result in a safer and more enjoyable ride. Those who think of the idea as unworthy will find that as one ages the ride may get a little tougher and less exhilarating because of the weight of the bike. That accessory takes that stress away and makes the ride pleasurable again. They are not training wheels they are stress relievers and a way for everyone to continue the joy of riding on 2 wheels.
You make a very good point. As a rider of a "proper" Goldwing - ie a 1200 - I was initially dismissive. I thought, like many, "Christ, if you need that it really is time to give up riding." But you're right - if it saves another older Goldwing from being lost forever by the hideous sin of being triked then it's surely worth doing.
I think that all that it does is provide a false sense of security to someone who is incapable of handling their motorcycle and keep someone riding who really should not be, endangering themselves and others. A person who feels they need something like this either needs to severely downsize their bike, move to a trike, or give up riding altogether.
@@kennethsouthard6042 You do NOT have the right to decide who rides what and how. Riding is a personal experience. You have some nerve. I am ashamed you are a fellow biker.
$4700 dollars . And you still have to mount them on your bike - for that price they ought to come with tassels and bell … training wheels but super expensive .
Hahahaha! "Landing Gear" !? They are Sis-wheels for those who doesn't know their limitation... yet still want to ride a GW ... just like tricycles Hahahahaha!
My dad lost his leg in WW2 and still rode as many years as he could. This would have let him ride longer. Your opinion on the matter doesn’t change the facts.
