Though Kitty got a free pass on the UK3 runway challenge where she was worse than the bottom 2 there too, production doesn’t expect her to have good looks so they don’t judge her for it 😅

Between these two episodes, this was the most riggory we’ve seen in at least the past year. Genuinely so disappointed to see Global All Stars falling into the OBVIOUS trap of favoring the girls previously judged by Ru. Why would they even bother to do this competition if thats how they were going to do it. The blatant disrespect and borderline classism is baffling - these queens deserve so much more

Exactly, if Ru wants to favor her favorite uk and down under queens, just have them come for regular all stars and no one will complain. But to bring 9 other incredibly talented international queens for them to all get shafted, it just feels so disrespectful

I do think one issue is Ru not getting references from other countries. That makes some of the judging understandable, but it still doesn’t make it fair. The queens should have been given a chance to explain what their concepts were if the judges didn’t understand it, rather than just saying, ‘you didn’t fit the category’. Miranda’s villain was based on a popular Brazilian storybook, so it made sense, but of course Ru wouldn’t know that. This means that the queens are going to need to conform to US references and concepts just to be understood and taken at an equal level to the English speaking queens

Not only that, but they are clearly saving the native english speakers for the upcoming comedy/improv challenges. And this is just not acceptable, because the other queens were already at a disadvantage. It is extremely hard to be funny, now imagine trying to be funny in a second language. How can those challenges be judged fairly?

miranda's second look was a represetation of a carranca. wikipedia description as follows: "carranca is a type of figurehead attached to river craft which is attributed with power to protect the boatmen from the river's evil spirits. the culture in brazil incorporated elements of the indigenous culture, so that the idea of river spirits and forest spirits can help or hinder a crossing is also natural of the amerindian imaginary". if you look some images up, you'll see a clear inspiration of it. carrancas can be seen a something bad since it has that look. it can be look upon with disdain, just like a villain.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed the category last minute, causing the confusion and underwhelming runway. Also, just like with Lemon, Jimbo, Jinx, and arguably Shea, I would not be surprised if this season is set up to crown Alyssa. That’s just kinda what RPDR is to me these days - a popularity contest. An honorary Oscar. lol a lifetime achievement award. A “sorry for snubbing you a few times, have a season” show instead of real competition. I’m never surprised when it starts to feel rigged. So I watch for different reasons now, never to see a fair run.

My issues with global is that it's just gonna end up feeling like every other season and not like the event it should be. Global should be the only season without eliminations, letting everyone get a chance to shine in challenges they'd be good at, imagine they awarded medals for every staple drag race challenge, opening ceremony parade... Etc.. . I feel like global and Ru are against most of the queens who are struggling with their English. This will clearly end with an all native English speaker top 4.

I'm confused why you think these queens would deserve a non elimination season. There's people that don't watch all the international seasons and this is a good introduction of them but most of the international queens are not well known so will make no sense. But everyone can have their opinion I guess.

The look Athena made was very weak; however, I feel her first 2 looks were strong, the first one being one of my fav. So I would have put her low/safe. One thing is sure to me is that Kitty’s looks were worst, and Kween weren’t much better. Needless to say, I don’t think she should have been in the bottom 2.

I love kitty to death, she's charisma incarnated, but girl... this ball was NOT IT, it's beyond me how she wasn't in the bottom... Alyssa's first two looks were to die for, I was in awe, but money can buy that... what she made for her third look didn't match the category, though beautiful... she should've been safe... athina and miranda in the bottom was WILD, like how compared to the others?!?!! At least pythia won, she was the best overall...

Pythia was a clear winner & she’s not a queen heavy on my radar. Being I’m not huge on aesthetic queens and fashion based queen. But, her eye for fashion and talent with sewing is undeniable. Let’s not forget she gave icesis a run for her money that season.

I had already seen some spoilers so I know Athena was the first to go, but the longer I was watching this Ball unfold the more I got convinced that the spoilers were actually wrong because her runway package was safe at worst! There were so many queens with very questionable choices on that runway that ended up being safe?? That’s crazy to me! At least this gave the somewhat mild mannered and quiet Athena some more attention which she definitely deserves!

Kitty was trash this week. I hated every look. Eva’s first two I agree weren’t strong enough for the category, but they were serviceable and I actually thought her sewn look fit the category. I could see her as a Bond girl who is dressed up to be at a party or in a casino and then kicks ass when a fight starts. But it was ill fitting, and the colour washed her out. Kitty was the worst, though. Athena’s first two looks should have saved her from the bottom. I didn’t like Miranda’s last look but the first two were good. I guess this was just a mess overall and I have no idea how I’d judge it. The only certainties were Pythia winning and Alyssa’s first two looks were so strong she did deserve a top placement.

I know! Surprised me too, must be the shortest episode of any Drag Race show. Then the first episode of the Spanish version season 2 was 90 minutes! We'll see if the upcoming episodes of global are short too. And we don't get to see them confer with each other what they thought of each contestant either.

Here’s the thing I do think it’s rigged yes like I’d be fine with Alyssa winning I mean I’d live for it! But she is a 100% English speaking queen. However I don’t think it’s necessarily rigged for Alyssa It feels more rigged for Kitty and that kinda turns me off the season and that’s a shame because it’s the season I was most looking forward to

Athena came from one of the smallest franchises. Kitty came from the second largest (and Kween from an English-speaking, Rupaul-judged franchise) so they will be favored. The thing is, if we keep getting riggory of this level, will queens sign up for a Global 2? Tessa is playing smart and playing with the production so they'll keep her for a while for sure.

Long time viewer, first-time tipper, and huge fun! What's your opinion about the lack of "side shows" for GAS? Like no Untucked/pit stop/fashion photo review? Also, why do you think the mainstream American queens, especially the big names, are not giving much attention to this season? For example no coverage from Race Chaser and Sibling Rivalry... for us international viewers it really looks like the Americans are always so dismissive of the international franchises. Is it just an impression? Love you guys!

I will say Soa and Kitty should have been bottom 2 for me, with maybe Kween, Eva or Tessa in the low spot. Kween was just a massive miss on the themes of the last two runways and I hated her She-villain. Eva's she-villain was very very basic and I wasn't a huge fan of any of her looks for the categories. Tessa I will say knocked it out of the park in my opinion for the first two looks, but her last one was by far one of the worst.

As a Belgian fan, I am really upset by the treatment of Athena Likis and Drag Race Belgique in general. **Did you know NONE of the Belgian queens except for Drag Couenne (season 1's winner) have even got an official verified status on IG from WOW?** I guess the general Belgian aesthetic is different from the American ones, where visual perfection is often key, whereas in Belgium it is more conceptual, more alt, more personality-based. Ahtena's look were solid and there were definitely more clunky looks... And sorry, telling Athena "it does not feminise your body enough"?! I thought "all drag is valid", but Ru is going all Stepford Wife with this comment. I see where this season will end, but just saying, it would be rather redundant if the Global All Star ended up being an English-speaking queen that Ru has judged before - same as with those vs the World-seasons. The international queens are just set pieces as a back drop for the US/UK/Canadian queens.

Galavaro, the first look was sloppy to me too. I think it is the coloring chooses. It is too many colors without any matching. This is where nymphia winds did this better because she choose like 3 colors to have. The patterned stockings? Why is it laytex? It looks more like a lollypop wrapper. NOt a fan either. Her final look (even though it was made and nice) it looked too early 2ks to me.

I am a little worried about how Global All Stars is going. I really think that Miranda and Gala Varo giving incredible performances so far and it seems like the judges are just not seeing them. And I worry that since they are from some smaller, newer, non-English speaking franchises they are not going to get the recognition they deserve. Meanwhile, Kitty is getting a lot of screentime and hasn't got a bad critique yet and I feel like she's lagging behind most of the group.

She's literally the most successful queen in the drag industry. How are y'all gonna put her in a season full of queens with nowhere near the resources? How is anyone going to stand up to her? Miranda Lebrão is getting so unfair criticism that I do believe they are making her the “underdog winner” edit: By example, her talent show was interesting but didn’t got any traction and her ball was marvelous (the fact the judge panel doesn’t understand the references doesn’t means is not in the category: It is based in Latin American Saturday morning muppet shows such as Castelo Rá Tim Bum or Club 10; Daphne was smart and it was well constructed)

Yeah this ball was disappointing. The judging was bizarre, and the looks were a let down. Very sad to see Athena go home so unfairly after she had a promising start. And Miranda being in the bottom is kinda crazy too.

I hear rigging accusations with every Drag Race season. I'd love to know the actual truth. I sure hope its not true, but with some of the decisions made, I do wonder. 🤔 I also wonder whether RuPaul really does have the final say. People say its up to production, but Ru is one of the producers. We have enough evidence that the show is often edited to make us love or hate certain queens, so rigging the outcome wouldn't be that much of a stretch. 🤷🏻
