Art has always been about being informed to find relevance. Artists rarely live in a total world scenario and neither can afford to function in a totally private place. The internet demands by providing information about the global art scene and questions the time element of what is new and what is passing. So when an artist knows or sees or hears or questions or feels inspired, it is an experience totally unknown to previous decades. This phenomena also affects musicians and creates an opportunity to question the relevance of mediocrity as less that excellent. The process of the new movement has to do how much art is being created by artists affected by the demands of the internet as an information center, that allows both individual selection and a sense of community or collective, and then inspires the decisions or failures of an artist. The intimidation, the inspiration, the accommodation etc. of an artist. However being able to detect such product as a work influenced by the internet is yet to show itself. Its not only the image but the inspiration. Every subject from the most noble to the most profane, the most recent to the most old, all affects us. When I look into the internet, I actually lose inspiration and feel like giving up art, because it all seems so vast and complete, and the hope to revolutionize a lonely revolution seems hopeless and standing alone seems insignificant and small. It causes us to see the value of the critic to give value to our isolationist pursuits. Is there such thing as a post internet critic? I believe that references to computer art (photoshop art) is missing the point. Medium is not necessarily post internet, but current internet. The effect that the information that the internet provides create a new real that an artist responds to. In fact, the internet can serve the function of the self weeding out of artists who can depend on their own judgment in face of exposure to the global art scene, lessening the burden on museums, critics, curators, jurists and collectors to do the elimination.
