BU is leading a research project to look at drowning prevention in rural Bangladesh, especially among children under two years old. The project, called Sonamoni, is being co-ordinated by Bournemouth University and the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) in collaboration with the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE), the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), University of Southampton, and Design Without Borders, which is based in Uganda.
The project will seek to create interventions and education to support communities and prevent drowning among young children in the country.
