Released on September 26, 2024, the GII ranks the innovation performance of 133 countries and economies around the world. Themed "Unlocking the Promise of Social Entrepreneurship", the GII takes the pulse of global innovation trends against a background of steady but slow global economic growth, shrinking innovation finance, and sluggish productivity growth.
