You cannot beat the real thing in terms of its sense of history and antiquity. However most people who want the real thing in perfect condition do not want to fuss with replating and revamping someone else's old Fatboy. They will likely purchase a complete revamp at $200 to $300 USD. Our razor is targeted to those people. For everyone who said "why doesn't someone remake the Fatboy, well we have! Know what? It is a darn fine razor.

@@sbcwinn it looks like a fine example of a Fatboy and I am sure there is a market for it Sheldon, but for me I wanted the razor that my father used . Memories are hard to replace. There are millions of original Fatboy Razors out there . If you want to make a razor that is a real unicorn make a copy of the British made Raised Flat bottom tech. Not many made and it is one that is sought after by many a vintage Gillette lover.

Love my new Fatguy razor. I use it in rotation to give my Fatboy and Slims a break. Couldn'tt be happier with my new Fatguy, worth every penny imho.

Nobody hated to be late, more than we did. But we did something right, including making sure that it was assembled in Caanada. We are VERY proud of this product. It has gotten wonderful reviews. Would you rather that we took our time and created something superb, or we delivered it earlier. This project was a major investment. But if I had to do it all over again, I would hope not to have the same challenges, but I wouldn't change a thing. For all of those who bemoan the fact that Gillette wouldn't remake their Fatboy I invested tens of thousands of dollars to bring something to the wet shaving community that nobody else would dare undertake. The technical challenges of building this razor were incredible.

A stainless version that is rhodium plated is in development. Somebody had to remake this classic. We improved it by using better alloys, aside from that its a part for part replication.

We plated our Fatguy with chrome so it could be easily differentiated from the real thing. I was worried about it being resold on eBay as the real thing and that made my blood run cold. I also have an attachment to my Fatboy. I understand. But for those thousands of people who would like to own just about the same razor new, and to remake a legend, that was our goal. Red tip is next.

I had to agree with his critiques. Would have loved a machined stainless or even aluminum version so that the tolerances could be improved on.

@@kevyshaves4109 Matt's review is fair, however he does make a substantial part of his revenue from referbishing and selling the Fatboy. I think, even he was surpeied how good our razor is.

All the popular RU-vid wet shavers received their new Fatguys in pristine working condition. Matt just happens to get a lemon? He refurbs & sells vintage Gillettes, which are in direct competition to the new Fatguy. Very peculiar.

That's a good point and the only thing missing imo. When paying a tribute, presentation means everything towards the first impression. Regardless, I'm enjoying my new Fat Guy. The mechanism is smooth, precise and secure. Fit and finish is superb and the shaves are equalled only by the original.

The knurling is different because the years are different. Kevy's is a 1950's version. Ours is based on a 1960. Same knurling as a 1960. Good eye though!

@@nicetna2010 Matt claims the Fatguy isn't competition to him, yet he wouldn't purchase a Fatguy, instead opting to 'borrow' a Fatguy. So he claims his Fatguy was broke, and it wasn't even his. Smh. Terrible business ethics. I won't be patronizing his business anytime soon.

@@kevyshaves4109 That's my point, Kevy. I have two problems with Matt using a loaner: 1) That particular razor has now been shipped multiple times, and we all know the damage that can occur in shipping. Ken didn't seem to have any problems with that same razor, and 2) I would've expected Matt to purchase a new razor with his own money. He is arguably the foremost technician in regards to TTO safety razors - his reviews carry some weight. Him having absolutely nothing invested negates his credibility both pro and con imho. Matt also stated to me that the Fatguy is no competition to him whatsoever - then why not just purchase his own? Matt did not impress me with his used Fatguy review.

@@richardpoole5928 if you keep everything locked in place and then adjust it, there can be more tension on the adjustment mechanism. Having said that, theyre are others who say it doesn't matter if you adjust with it unlocked or not. I just prefer to do it that way and as i always say...there's no right or wrong way, just do what works for you. Cheers. Kevy 👍

There should not be any import taxes on this British soap into Denmark, so long as it is imported into Denmark before 1 Jan 2021. Exports/imports among E.U. countries incur no such taxes.
