Hi mate, I am planning to buy the same longboard.I weight about 95kg, If ever I step on the board will it have some flex resulting a much lower ground clearance? Will it touch the ground? What about when trying to do a slide have you experience contact with the side edge of the board and the ground? I'm a newbie can you recommend me a longboard for freeride. Thank you
Hi Ryan , the board is very stiff which you want for free ride, if the side hits the ground has more to do with the size of the wheels and the type of bushings you use , you might consider a harder type of bushings , sliding goes easier with a smaller wheel. I have the EZ Hawgs on mine and they are relative small 66mm from memory, board hasn’t touched the ground. Double drop decks are great for beginners an other board to consider is a Landyachtz switchblade, depending on your height you can choose the length as well. I’m 6’3” and find the longer size good for me , hope that is any help to you
i weigh 120 kg and have the bannerstone, it does flex a bit, but nothing too scary and definitely not enough to touch the ground so you should be fine in that regard. as Alan said a Landyachts Switchblade is gonna be a great freeride board and easy to learn on. if you can get the switchblade go for it, if not then the bannestone is a good alternative.
Hi @@AlanP1TO10WORLD , I just bought my Bannerstone Longboard. I tried to rode it yesterday and I am not comfortable yet, it seems like I haven't find the right footings for it. Tomorrow I'm going to try it out again. also to explore the board. I'm really excited about it.
Hi @@Ibyuuprofin, right after reading your reply I immediately bought the board. And what you said was true it does not touch the ground even when I'm turning. Thank you. I'm going to explore the board and try it out tomorrow morning.
