Glock 43x First Mag Review | This Gun Was Trash Until... 

I was so emotional at the end of this vid, I grabbed my 43X from the drawer and caressed it. Told it not to listen to that mean ol' Colion and his hurtful 10 round comments.

I feel like I’m watching a man abuse and praise his stepchild at the same time.

I think what Colion is trying to put into context for us is that the 15 round mag from Shield Arms is 5 more than the 10 round original G43x mag.

Damn that 15 rounder makes it a g19 that carries like a single stack.

15 round mags are what made me love this gun too. It’s been with me every since 🤙🏻

I got my 43x a year and a half ago and I love it. I was okay with the 10 round mag but as soon as I had to have 3 mags for work I ordered the S15 the mag bundle with a metal mag release. I love my 43x. It is big enough for my hands and small enough for my wife and kids. Plus it is a comfortable carry pistol.

I have a couple as my EDC, I swapped out the sights and added a metal mag release and use 10 round Glock Mags and the 15 round Shield Arms mags. For my hands they feel fantastic, that bit of a thinner grip makes a pretty big difference.

Shield arms also makes a magwell widener. Not only can you reload that much easier and faster, but it gives it a better grip for your hand kind of squeezes between that and the top of the gun. It's a game changer trust me.

I didn't like it at first but that quickly changed after picking one up, now i believe it to be one of the best 10round carry guns of all time.

This is the first time I've out loud laughed at Colion when he started having an excitement freakout at the 15 round mag.

Ha ha I just picked up the 43X yesterday. I never would’ve thought that I would ever own a Glock until this pistol came out. I literally walked into my local gun shop prepared to buy the P365 SAS, but rather walked out with the Glock 43X. WTF?! I actually adore this pistol and it’s ergonomics are virtually perfect. Doesn’t need a few switchouts and changeups? Sure, but it’s the perfect carry.

If you live in a state that has a 10 round mag law, the G43x is exactly what we needed.

I had the opportunity to choose any piece for a back up. But I chose the 43X because it only holds 10 rnds its super thin and light.. when I want more I grab more.. but for a every day carry ITS GLOCK PERFECTION..

I've been carrying since 1983, give or take a few years in the US Military where we were not allowed, and I've carried just about every type of pistol or revolver. I bought this G43X last fall and I have since sold so many of my other guns because I do not carry them anymore. The G43X is my daily. I have 5 of the S15 mags and I think 8 or 10 of the factory Glock mags too. Stash them all over the place. This gun shoots like it's a 5" barrel. The trigger is already undercut and it's the first small frame Glock that has never once given me the "Glock knuckle." It shoots perfectly and my trigger pull is around 4 lbs with all factory internals. It was like 5 lbs out the box if I recall, a good cleaning and it was 4.5 lbs. After way more than 10K rounds, it is a very comfortable 4 lbs. I have 4 holsters for it too. So far, it is the best carry gun I've ever owned or shot. I even sold my Sig P365XL. All I have are night sights on this gun. Every now and then I'll put on the rubber grip sleeve. But if I'm carrying it with light summer clothes I usually don't use the rubber grip. It hangs on light shirts and you can tell I'm carrying it. I think I'll even get me another one, just for a spare or truck gun.

I like Colion Noir more and more each time i see him. Before i thought he was kinda quirky and didn’t really understand him. His content is definitely growing on me

I'm 6'3" and have big hands and it fits very well in my hands. I had to add a mag extension to my G23! I really like the 43x and glocks have been the most dependable pistols in my opinion in history!

Them 15 round metal mags are great runners. I got the 3 pack and the metal mag catch on a recommendation and love it. Well its really the wife's, her first pistol was a great choice, so much so I have to carry it for her, lol.

Just bought a 43x today and it’s nice to hear can get higher capacity magazines for it! Love the channel and keep up the good work

Watched this video a few years ago. Came back on my feed and reminded me just how much I love it. Nothing great was ever accomplished without enthusiasm. The joy here is amazing.

Thanks for the tip. I was concerned about only ten rounds when I purchased my 43x, I went back and forth between the 43x and the sig p365, for days lol ultimately I decided on the 43x. I love it, it’s perfect for my hand size and I’m comfortable with it. I am glad to know I can grab this mag with 15 rounds now and no extra length. Thank you!

You had me worried for a minute. I just purchased a 43x although I knew the stock mags were 10 and you could get 15 round mags. I thought you were calling it trash for another reason. How glad I am to see you geekin' out to it :)

that’s insane. doubled the mag capacity with maybe an inch or an inch and a half of length. definitely one of the best conceal carry options if you like a small frame.

Hey, I’m one of those guys that believe the more rounds the better. However, I also believe that a cc gun is not for a gunfight, it’s for giving you a chance to get out of a bad situation. My shield has eight and I have an extra mag in my pocket. If that’s not enough, some bad shit is going down.

The SA mags have made the 43X my EDC ever since I got them. Love the combo.

I've been carrying a 43X since they first came out. So easy to conceal and full grip makes it great for me. Now with the 15 round mags it's even better. Plus it fits in a 43 holster.

Criminals could care less how many rounds you carry, the first one you hit them with is what they remember.

I carry the 43x with the shield arms 15 round mags. Love it!

It is the grip length. Drawing from concealment - those short grip guns , under stress, are often hard to get a full grip. This one - long enough grip to grab the thing. Do some drills with your short grip 365 and the 43x, from deep conceal, time to draw and first shot on target. Maybe it won’t be so useless to you after that.

For those of us that live in non-free states (like Connecticut) having a 10-round capacity on your carry gun is perfect because that’s the maximum we can carry legally. Just because it isn’t for you doesn’t mean it doesn’t fill a need for someone else.

That’s only reason I bought the gun was because of the 15 round mags

I love my 43X with Shield Arms magazines. So when I saw a video from one of my top 3 respected gun content creators with the words "43X Trash" in the title I had to watch. You got me! Great video. To let everyone know, when I switched out the Glock polymer magazine release with the Shield Arms aluminum release my Glock OEM mags no longer worked well in the gun. They become "sticky" and no longer release easily. I have to pull them out. I am going to 100% Shield Arms.

Bought my 43X MOS for n April. 500 rounds later, I totally agree with you. Upgraded iron sights and mag release right away. Now I love it!

Love my Shield Arms 15 round magazines. They work fantastic!! I converted my standard OEM 10 rounders into 14 rounders extensions from Ghost Inc, since I didn’t want to get rid of them. So now I own 15 and 14 round 43X mags.

I’m finally getting one. I’ve had a Shield 1.0 that I really like. The 43X is nearly identical in size but with more rounds. I can comfortably carry a 19 IWB but would rather have something lighter and smaller.

When I decided to buy my first Glock, the G43X didn’t exist, only the G43. Well, compared to the G26, it was an easy choice, and I went with the G26. On my hip, I carry it with the +2 OEM mags. On my ankle, I carry it with the flush mags. And either way, I carry G19 mags for spares. I consider the G26 much more versatile because of the mag compatibility with its big brothers (I even bought the 33 round “stick” just for fun), and the width isn’t an issue for me like some claim. I think the G26 is about the most versatile Glock one could own. Others may disagree and that’s fine. Carry what you like. For me, it’s my Glock 26 Gen 5 with Glock OEM night sights.

EDC= a gun you can effectively defend yourself with every time that you won’t be overly butthurt/financially affected when the cops confiscate it.

I was just as giddy with my hellcat once they released factory 15 round mags. I like the option to carry with the 11 rnd flush short grip at times.

I have a 43x, 19 and a 26. The 19 and 26 were both purchased after I found out how unreliable shield arms mags are. I sent them in to shields arms of course they said nothing was wrong but they replaced the springs as a "courtesy" Took them to range and continued to have issues. Took them out and went back OEM. $200+ in mags down the drain.

I love when a company makes something better than Glock’s Perfection.

I like the 43x the way it is. Aftermarket parts make me nervous.

Makes me wonder: when will they do the same for the full size models? How many more rounds can you stuff into a Glock 17/19?

It is a great option for someone who lives in a state(like Maryland) that only allows 10 rounds magazines. I for one am very thankful.

I've had a 43 and a 43x. I sold both and went back with the 26. Good guns. Just like the versatility of using my 19 and 17 mags as well as with a 33 if needed.

After watching this, I just bought one of these magazines with my economic impact payment card. Lol, thanks Uncle Sam!

Mr Noir, when I bought my first Glock back in the late 1990s, I received a subscription to Glock magazine. In it there was a story by Gaston Glock. He explained that the slide stop lever was not and never intended to be or used as a slide release. He further explained that he intended the slide be manually pulled all the way back and then released to insure proper seating of the first round.

personally I'm good with 11 rounds topped off, & a 10 round back up mag. I've never needed to bust out 21 rounds of 9 to defend myself lol. I do think the shield arms mags are a cool option, but I like the Glock reliability mostly. but thats just me.. to each their own.

The shield arms Gen 2 mags are a game changer for the 43x. The 43x is my edc now.

Yep, I was the same. Lost my 19, was looking for a replacement and eyeballin' the 365. When I saw the 43x, I liked the concept... but HATED the magazine size. That was a no-go. Then I found Shield Arms... Bought a 43x the next weekend and was one of the original pre-orders as soon as it was available. Followed their whole journey. Really hope they do well. Glock owes them big. Shield Arms saved the gun.

I really like my 43x with 10 rounds. It seem some folks have issues with the shield arms mags over time. Glock mags are Uber reliable and cheap.

As a dude that likes Walther guns, I'm extremely jealous of the aftermarket you Glock guys have. It's just incredible.

The 43x has the same frame as a 19. Two differences: shorter slide/barrel and it is slimmer. You have big hands so in your mind might as well get a 19 with more rounds, but for people with small hands they can grab it better then a 19. Basically its all about hand size - we're all different.

I have the 43x with 3 s15 mags. A set of ameriglo night sights and a nighstick light/laser. This thing rocks.

The 19X is 🔥 so glad it was my first firearm, definitely picking this one up next. Glock is great for beginners. After the 43X I’ll start venturing out to other brands and types.

I personally carry the G33 as my EDC because I love this fire breathing dragon. But my wife carries the 43X. For several months, I tried buying the S15 mag, but they were on back order due to not being able to keep up with demand. Now I am glad they were. They have now come out with the gen 2 which is even better. AND.... they are the same price. I bought 5 for my wife and she absolutely loves them. No hiccups whatsoever with these mags. Now she has me wanting a 43X for my EDC. Do you think my fire breathing dragon will get jealous if I stick him back in the safe???
