I describe the G47 as a "Glock 17 sized Glock 48". The G47 slide looks like a sized up G48 slide which is how it is able to fit on G43X frames, hence G47 slide fit on G19 frame.
I'll admit I've never been a glock fan, they are a good gun but they were just never for me (i have sigs, walthers, springfield and caniks so i do love variety) however my local gun store had a gun show with major retailers there and i held the g47 mos gen 5 and damn it felt great and the trigger was amazing on this one. Im now in the market for this firearm.
As others have mentioned, the big differentiating factor on this gun is that you can run a 19 slide on it, making it a G45 or G19x form factor. No mention of that fact here. Otherwise it's just a G17 with a slightly different feeling trigger?
Did you guys miss the whole purpose for this Glock to be released? I thought there were some other interesting features regarding slide compatibility that is a whole reason been released!
@@pewpewtactical I do feel a single sentence of "This is compatable with the Glock 19 to allow for the creation of a Glock 19X and Glock 19L with a simple slide swap."
@1:52, I think you got confused. The G47 has the grip of the G17, but the dust cover is shorter like the G45 or G19. The G47 uses the shorter captive recoil spring like a G19 and you can swap the full length 47 slide with a 19 slide. The G17 slide will NOT fit on the G47 lower. Personally, this gun is a dumb idea. Yeah I get it, it’s the “two guns in one” thing. I’d rather have an individual 17, 19 and my 19x (or 45). The more guns the better. Oh wait, I already have those… and then some!
I'm not confused, but thanks! The compatibility is interesting and I covered it in the article. Off camera, I mounted the G17 slide on the G47 frame too. It fits, but the shortened dust cover doesn't completely conceal the recoil spring. Congrats on your collection! I'm kind of Glock heavy myself...
It’s a better looking gun than the 17. I know people are chomping at the bit to get the 19L out of this gun, but it’s really not a great shooter. Unbalanced, and sluggish. If you run a dot, the slide length is irrelevant out side of a little extra velocity. Best to keep it a 17.
Sorry guys the Glock17/47 is a Browning High Power with a crappy trigger. Get that rigger down to 4 1/2/ pounds, get the grit a gravel out of it and now you have something to crow about. There are people out there that do really great trigger jobs on these guns.
It is a cool gun However I feel it has more recoil comparing to glock 17 g5 And snappier as well I don't know Maybe I need more trigger time with it to get comfortable with 47
@@Rhamlin7 i don't know I felt like when I shot both of my glock 17 amd 47. The 17 was better at handling. Thought both of them were stock, no modifications. I understand technically those 2 are the same ... but if I have to choose I will go with 17
Anyone here owns the Glock 47? I ask because I wonder does the slide interfere with shooter’s with large hands? Like a slide bite? I saw he put the back strap on and if I have to do the same. Just curious because I do not want to waste any money.
I still don't understand the fascination of glock. Especially the whole glock perfection thing. I guess it's proof that advertising works. These guns are average at best. There are a many other better pistols.
It’s a glock …. They are all the same .. basically and I have carried one every day for 8 years and will continue to. But glock does nothing interesting.. they just work
Definitely not being left behind when theyre becoming special operations go to sidearms while also being one of the most popular hands guns along with cz
It's a Glock 19/26 compatable frame with a Glock 17 length slide. If you own a Glock 19, you can create a 47, 19, 19L, and 19X. There's no real reason to buy the 17 anymore.
And respectfully I see many Glock haters that regurgitate the same lines with no actual experience with Glocks. I owned Glocks and HK’s and other brands. I love them all. But I carry my Glocks daily for self defense for a reason plain and simple. Leave the dark side and come over into the Light of Glock and you will not be disappointed :)
Not much different , but glock does make small improvements on a very proven platform . Glock should have offered this model with their performance trigger . A threaded or ported barrel. Just something to separate it from the similar models.with that said I did pick one up. 🫡
