By far the best gun reviews on the internet. I always look forward to your new ones! Thank you for all the work you put into them.

Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. Both mean a lot to me. Sometimes I get lengthy with my reviews. But I don't want my viewers to say, "Why didn't you cover this or that?" Sometimes folks are happy seeing a review of a firearm they have, and sometimes they are prospective purchasers and are looking for information. Regardless, I don;t want to shortcut anyone.

Glock 23 gen 5 is definitely my favorite Glock

Thanks for being with me on this journey. Folks can say what they want about Glock pistols; they are Glock blocks and ugly, the sights are plastic, etc., but they sure are reliable. I have really gained an appreciation for them.

I carried my Gen 2 G23 a lot for several years. The stock sights were never a problem. I plan to keep the stock sights When I get my Gen 5.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I have never had an issue with stock Glock sights. My GEN4, a police trade-in, came with GNS installed. I find that the stock Glock sights show up well, even in dim lighting. Sometimes I change things out try and end up regretting the change. In this case, the sights worked out.

Ran stock sights on my gen 4 23 for 10 years never were a problem about to upgrade to a gen 5 this weekend

Very good review as always. I own several Glocks from the G42 to now the G23 Gen5. There was no fanfare on the release of the Gen5 40S&W new wider platforms as I discovered it rummaging through my local gun store. I own both the Gen4 and a Gen5 in this caliber and carry the Gen4 G23 more due to holster compatibility with my G19/4. All my Glocks, as I’ll carry anyone at any time, are fitted with the TFX-PRO sights needless to say I like these sights. As with all my Compact Glocks I run a 3.0lbs Trigger Connector not the factory 5.5lbs. The feel of the shot followed by the recoil (180gr) is a tad smoother as with the added (3oz increase) weight of the slide of the Gen5. However, love them both and great 25yd accuracy with both Gens. The barrel chambering is larger (due to slide width) with the 40S&W Generation 5 than the Gen4, so no barrel swapping and as with both sport a 20lbs RCA OEM. My overall impression between both is that the Generation 5 fully supports the higher pressures of the 40S&W cartridge over the Gen4, however I carry both.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I have yet to rotate to the G23 GEN5 and have been carrying the GEN4, for reasons I don't understand yet. The GEN4 is working out quite well, I guess. I have the GNS sights on the GEN4, but they will probably be swapped out with the TFX-PRO sights like what I installed in the GEN5. Like you, I like these sights.

Does the Gen 5 accept gen3 and 4 magazines? I am new to Glock been a Ruger guy the last dozen years.

I agree if I had to get rid of every pistol and could just have one it would be the Gen 5 23 I carry mine on duty everyday

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. The GEN5 G23 as many improvements over the GEN4 version. I especially like the ambidextrous slide lock, the better grip texture, and I don't miss the finger-grooved grip. The GEN4 and I have not yet parted ways, however. We still have some work to do together.

favorite glock. Although between the 4 and the 5 hardly any difference in recoil side by side, both are smooth, the 5 feels better grip wise and the boom is a tad softer. I love both. The gen 3's are great too.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I am still carrying the GEN4. I agree with what you cay on the GEN5;it does seem to operate smoother.

Glock 23 Gen 4 is one of my favorite shooters and being same size as my 19 I carry it when I need a little more bang. And I can tell you 180 grain Federal HST do some serious damage.

Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I am currently carrying the G23 GEN4, rather than the GEN5, but the GEN5 is not going away. As I mentioned in my reviews of the GEN4, the grip length is just a air longer than that with the G19. Along with a more powerful cartridge, the grip length better agrees with my hand over the G19.

I’ve been a Glock holdout since there has been a Glock. I recently purchased my first Glock pistol. A Gen 5, model 49 MOS. I’ve had the gun for just over a week and have put 500 rounds through it. I must say I’m quite happy with the purchase. I did update the sights to the Ameri-Glo with the orange front with green insert and black out rear. I’m planning on installing a Holosun SCS MOS in a few weeks.

Thanks for watching and commenting. It took me quite a few years to warm up to a Glock enough to purchase one. Once I did, it took me a while to appreciate what Gaston came up with. Now, I have too many, if there is such a thing.

I wouldn’t risk it, I messed up a Glock 20 and Glock 45 from a connersion barrel on the 20 and the ramjet afterburner bent my Glock 45

Thank you, this help me decide to get one, even though I have 45,19x, 20,21 and 22. Love my 22 but want it to be a tad smaller for appendix

No, sir! Thank you for watching and commenting. Like you, I also have the G22, but find the G23 just a tad better for concealment.

My main roadblock and why I’m switching carry pieces is the thicker slide and heavier overall gun, the lack of holsters and the grip and thicker slide print a bit much for my liking compared to a gen 4

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I find the same thing when changing up my EDC to a different firearm; it does take some transition time. With that said, I am still carrying my G23 GEN4 over the GEN5 even though the GEN5 has some good improvements.
