@@eloiseharbeson2483 .44 Special is special for sure. My dad has a S&W model 629 that commands respect at the range. I wonder if Clint Eastwood gets any royalties from a few scenes in Dirty Harry. Lol I doubt it, boy ohh boy, he sure sold alot of .44 Magnums back in the day.
My first concealed carry gun. A lot of people always talk down on Glock. I couldn’t care less. I love my Glock 30 compact! One of the most accurate handguns i’ve ever shot! Great review 👍
I have one. It's great. Dead on accurate ... Concealable... Comfortable. Its my ccw gun now. Definitely put the finger extensions on the mags. The grip plates are a nice feature. the only thing I have done to mine is replace the plastic recoil guide rod with a metal one.
@@82luft49 i can see that things in the USA are not so good, the Democrats are doing everything that they can to abolish the 2nd Amendment, and as i can see most Republicans are following then.
Have had my G30 for 17 years. No issues to report. I’ve never had issues with the recoil on mine. Finger extension and Trijicon night sights are the only upgrades I’ve made. I added an Olight Baldr Mini as it is now my home/truck pistol now that I use the G43 as my CCW.
Hell Yeah!! Same Here Except Mine didnt Have Rail in '99.. Otherwise Exact Same!.. Only Had Mine 1 Time Duing My Carry Days! & Lord Im Thankful I Had it!!. The #G30🙌🥰🙌❗
I've always been a Streamlight guy, I bought that same Olight Baldr Mini for my CZ during their flashsale It's a really good light. I like that they are rechargeable.
Have a 30sf, work in NY , live in CT so with a magazine capacity maximum of 10 rounds, it’s perfect. Fits in the winter rotation nicely. The SF is perfect if you have small to medium hands.
Had my model 30 for 19 years now. Great gun. If your going to get one forget the S and SF. Go for the thick one. It looks very intimidating from the wrong end!
I just bought the gen 4 g30. The magazine that you show in the table top is the standard 10 round magazine that ships with the gun. It came with 3 of those. Of course they give you a much better hold on the pistol. The flush fit 9 round magazines can be purchased separately. Thanks for the review!
After carrying my 26 for years I recently added the 30 Gen 4 to my carry rotation. Not too much bigger and with 10 rounds of 45 you can’t beat it! Nice to have the choice of the 30 and my 26 depending on the day.
Always liked the 45 ACP. Carried a 1911A1 for a number of years as a Deputy Sheriff, then switched to a Para Ordinance 13+1. Carried it until we switched to 40 Smith. Always had comfidence in the 45 to do what needed to be done, RIGHT NOW. More than I can say about the 9mm. Fired my only 100 in qualifying with the 45.
I have the 30S and love it, fantastic platform to make .45 versatile for carry or bedside. Have Truglo night sights, Zev trigger, TLR-7A, X-grip extended mag, and Talon grips. Yeah... you have to put some money into a Glock to make it what you really want, but this is the only .45 I really need.
@@TREYSEV All things with firearms are subjective, that's fair. A stock Glock is 'good enough,' although I argue it's not good value for money, but replacing the stock sights with any good night sights is a minimum upgrade IMO. The stock trigger is serviceable, but it's mushy and kinda sorry for the price. I always advise people who aren't looking to tinker or upgrade parts on their gun to go with M&P 2.0s - they're just better in every way for the same price range.
I just picked up my 30 gen 4 today I ordered online and “supposedly”used but looks like it never left it’s case. It definitely has a beefy fatter grip fyi to anyone with smaller hands kinda like me lol. Absolutely LOVE your videos brother and been watching you for years. Always very informative and fun to watch and be educated. Your one of my top few favorite RU-vidrs. God bless you and your family.
That’s funny! I bought a Gen 4 in December from a pawn shop for $499. It was on consignment and “used”. I examined it inside and out and it was only fired twice at the factory 10 years ago according to the spent shells. Factory grease, and zero blemishes or wear. I was going to get a Gen 5 from them but they were selling them for almost $700! And I don’t like the looks of the front serrations on the new Glocks. I wish they were optional.
I've had a 30S for a while but find it's rather light for the 45 ACP. Good for concealed carry but after I bought a FNX I put it in the safe. It is accurate and reliable but hard to get a fast accurate 2nd shot. A bumper sticker I saw in Israel " 45 ACP - having to fire twice is just silly "
I bought the SF model several months ago. I changed the trigger and front sight. I also took a Dremel to the trigger guard, eliminating the finger irritation. Now it's good. I don't like the blocky feel of Glock's grips, but this grinding made it tolerable. Shoots well!
I bought the G21 13 round mags for mine. Very easy to carry 40 rounds of .45 acp. with chest rig. That handles most social situations that I encounter. These 30s have very little recoil when compared to other 45s I have tried. I like AK 47&74s & pump shotguns. I keep life simple. Continue your honest reports sootchOO.
Like you I sold my original G30 several years ago and always regretted it. So happy I found my current 30SF. It's a great compliment to my G21 which was my first ever Glock. 👍
I am a huge Glock fan and own several. All function flawlessly and are extremely reliable, yet very simple. My most recent addition to the family was a G30 adorned with the battle-worn flag design coating - at no extra charge from my source. It came with three magazines - all extended. I have very large hands, and this is the first "small" Glock I have purchased that fits into my hand perfectly. I will be adding the Glock Bold Sights offered by Amerigo as soon as they arrive. I am comfortable with standard Glock sights but the bold sights give my old eyes an advantage. I will most likely add the large beaver tale to the grip as you recommend to help with stability. My Olight Baldr S rail mounted light fits perfectly and the desert tan matches the coating nicely. I believe I have a new favorite pistol! Thanks for your videos and great information about many items I have invested in.
I think this model and the 10mm model in this size are great for backpacking/hiking in areas with bears/moose other large or dangerous game. Reliable, good capacity, affordable, 10 million accessories for it...
I tried out the Glock 30 at the range and absolutely loved it! Its my next CCW when I get some extra cash. I've always been a 9MM shill but the G30 is so nice to shoot.
ewwww 9mm yuck, only joking ofc... i love my G30 but it eats 10mm underwood right now. also love my G33 (because i really do hate 9mm lol), it stays on my ankle typically.
The Glock 30 has always been the most accurate straight out of the box then any of their other pistols. I have an original Gen 3 model 30 and absolutely love it. I have a slew of other pistols I can carry but I carry that one whenever I can. It is also my bedside pistol. If anyone is thinking about getting one you won’t be disappointed !
I usually take a few of my guns per range trip. I was shocked when I first fired my Glock 30 Gen 4 was comparable to my 9mms. It is a very soft shooter. I need to get some finger extensions because my hand is a big too big for the grip.
@@wehrewulf thanks. You just made the world a better place by putting him in his place. You’re awesome. No really. Most people would’ve just overlooked this. But not you. That’s what separates awesome from everyone else.
This is the the I wish I bought way back. It took me 2 years to find the model 36 and I really tried to like it. Ended up selling it about a year or so later. Thanks for the great review. Love your shows.
I bought one of the 3rd generation models in the SF configuration back in May of 2013 and it's still my EDC gun to this day. The magazines I got with mine came with the extended baseplate when I bought it. The grip would've been too small for my hands without them.
My dad recently passed away and he left me his Glock 30. Im now trying to master this weapon. Always been a fan of 45 ACP but never shot it from a Glock. Definitely enjoying its compact size.
Love the G30SF! (I've owned two...) Upgraded the sights to Ameriglo H3's and stock mags with Pearce Grip baseplates.Would love to see this in a Gen 5 configuration at some point. Did the same mods with my G29. Both are great EDC options for me!
I have several Glocks,I like the 21 for the night stand and the 30s for Carry,on the 29 I love the Pierce +2 base plates along with a little beefier mag spring it's more than just a small pinky extension And more comfortable 😎👍
Excellent video Don: So I started wondering about recoil vs the G29 and you addressed it about two minutes later! Lol, now I am tempted to check this one out soon! 🤠🇺🇲
@@sootch00 hey sootch, just to let you know someone is posing as you with your logo and telling people on your channel to text a certain number that they have won a pistol.just a heads up they are asking for shipping to be sent via zelle or pay pal to pay for shipping
Awesome and well done review of the 30 🙌 I just picked up that Glock 30S and am kind of kicking myself for waiting so long to put it into the carry rotation. It's a little on the hefty side but carries great. Glad you put out this video and hoping to see a Staccato C2 video next. Wish I was closer so I could loan it to you for the review.
@@sootch00 that's awesome! I can't wait to see your review of the 30S. Also I know the sounds kind of silly but I've been a huge fan of yours for years and was wondering if you get a chance to check your messages on Instagram if you would read the message I sent you a while ago. I know it's a fanboy thing to say but I would love an autograph. Anyways keep up the amazing work 🙌
Did a tom of research before getting the Glock 30 Gen.4 , I like the finger grooves and it is surprisingly accurate compared with my other Glock 9MM's . If you can get over the thick grip, the G30 can stand toe-to-toe to any 45 ACP 1911 out there. My EDC right here. Not that popular in the Philippines though, maybe because of the nomenclature. Nevertheless, great gun awesome video
Stellar firearm, Sootch! I have the 30S, SF. Exceptional. It’s the perfect carry gun for me and I prefer .45. Nothing like it. It carries so well... Great content!
No they do not typically come with a flat base plate that’s only with the G29 10mm, the G30 comes standard with the extension for a total of 10 rounds in the magazine. The flat floor plate 9 round magazine for the G30 must be bought separately and is sometimes hard to find. Also, you should compare the G30 and G30S.
Shooting Che Guevara as a target just made my day. I am a Cuban and you are my new hero! Because of your channel and reviews I've decided to go for a Glock as my first handgun. But I haven't decided which one yet.
I love the 30. And the 30S. And the 36. Heck, I just love .45. And yes, I have 10mm too, but nothing terribly concealable (if Glock comes up with a 10mm single stack, I'm gonna start selling body parts to get it). But the 30 was my first Glock, and I still have it and love it. I prefer carrying the slimmer 30S (It makes a surprising difference), but the thing has been uber reliable, tough, and so easy to shoot, and shoot accurately. Same with the 36. What I love is that all of the Glocks all shoot the same, feel the same, etc. I don't have to re-learn to shoot no matter what size or caliber.
I have a glock 21 that is my home defense pistol, I can triple tap that gun faster than makes sense and put solid groups on targets at 25 yards. It's one gun I will never sell
Why sell the 30 ? when u can get a 13 round 21 mag with a X grip and it’s the length of a 21 handle, Barrel length difference is not enough with ballistics to make a big difference.
Glock calls them "subcompacts," not compacts which is pretty funny for the size. Been carrying mine for duty use for many years! Went from the gen 3 to the 4 when it came out. Last year and a half with a Holosun HS507C-X2 Pistol Red Dot Sight - ACSS® Vulcan® Reticle. Love the gun and the sight and it shoots great! Well done.
Perfect timing my man i am looking into grabbing the 30 i have the 21 and i am picking up the 41 this week. love me some .45 glocks. they fit my hands perfectly.
I own the model 30 and love it. I don't necessarily change parts on a Glock other then the tiny, hard to grasp take down lever to a extended lever. What a world of difference when breaking down the gun.
I like that he mentions the beavertail backstraps on the Gen4 & 5 Glocks, I use the large BT backstraps on my Gen4 21 and my 19X. Then I have Grip Force Adapters on my Gen3 17 & 19. Makes all the difference in the way the guns point to a target, and helps mitigate the recoil.
I just got a 30 Gen3 and took it to the range for the first time this morning before work, i absolutely love how snappy it feels with the Hyve Monarch trigger it came with (used, less than 1k rounds shot by prev owner)
I’ve got a Gen3 and it’s a brick. But I’ve got XL hands and it fits me perfectly. It’s one of the easier shooting guns that I have, but it’s not really a carry piece. It’s best for the car or home use.
I first bought my Glock 30 45 ACP when they first came out I still have it I sent it back to Glock once they did some upgrades that they was able to do to make it They installed a different recoil spring the gun is a tack driver right now in my hands !! I LOVE THIS TOOL IN MY HANDS THIS FIREARM IS MY CHOICE TO CARRY DAILY !!!! I have a holster I made up to carry it inside my swimming trunks when I’m on vacation in Florida the guns in the ocean with me when I’m swimming !!
You know I made some water proof ammo years ago,it will work still today.after we sealed it with a special mix ,and a coat of Teflon,it works great for Those weter environment.have a great day ok.
**I know Mossad Ayoob had a group that cloverleafed and said it was one one of the most accurate 45s out of the box. **I'm still waiting for them to mate the 30 slide with a long full size grip to hold the 13 round magazine with no slop or play like a magazine base plate or sleeve. **But now I also want ambidextrous controls, not reversible, ambidextrous. **To me this type in a horizontal shoulder holster would be the perfect concealed carry piece. **Another one I'd like to see would be a P14 Para Ordnance grip made it to their short warthog slide with a steel reinforcement to keep the barrel from being pushed out of battery if muzzle contact strike is performed along with a SFS system from cylinder and slide. To me that would be the ultimate CQB pistol
Excellent video like always the Glock 30 is a big gun even though it's small the Glock 30S is a lot better because the slide is the same as the Glock 36 and it has the short frame on it 10 rounds a 45 ACP and one of the chamber 11 rounds you can't beat that 🇱🇻💯👍
I own the 21 and want a smaller gun for when I don't feel comfortable open carrying. I'll probably buy a 9mm, but I like the idea of the 30 as I already have so much 45.
The Black Phantom trigger with a Ghost trigger bar and heavy striker spring make it a smooth shooter without making it too dangerous for CC. I've installed them in a few of my family and friends Glocks. I have larger hands so, the Gen 3 G30 fits me perfectly well. They are very accurate pistols for their size.
It might be nice to include how it's still relevant against the newer offerings of other companies. I've had a Glock 30 for several years now. And it's still the one I carry when I'm going to be in a known high risk area.
The thickness of the grip is what turned me off on this gun. Bought one when they first came out, and had to readjust my grip after every shot. Ended up selling it after about a week. Bought the G36, and was much more pleased with it. But my favorite .45 in this size is a ParaOrdinance P12 LDA. Totally different gun, I know.
This was my first gun back in 97-ish. Fit fine(I have Goldilocks hands when it comes to guns. Perfect hands for most sizes), but during my basic hand gun course it kept malfunctioning. Prompting many comedic responses from my 1911 loving instructor (former active duty marine). I replaced it with a SW 99.
They do not come w flush fit mags. They come with 10 rounders already. If you want a 9 round flush fit mag for carry u must buy separately. And then you must break it in because simply loading all 9 rounds in is brutal til its broken in.
I love my Gen 4 G32. I use the large beaver tail back strap because I have Sasquatch sized hands, and it keeps my floating thumb directly above the mag release. I would LOVE it if they released all of the good calibers (.40 45 gap, 45, 357 Sig, 10mm) into Gen 5. It's not like they haven't sold millions of the other Glock models as well! Glock is actually losing sales, (maybe not a "ton") because I know plenty of other gun owners that only own Glocks in the first place due to all of the other non-9mm caliber options. Come on Glock, get with the program......and release the Glock 18 for us!!
Great review! I have a Gen 3 Mod 30 Short Frame (SF), and added Pearce Grip magazine extenders - perfect fit in my hand! I even have a magazine sleeve for the longer Mod 19!
