@@HeLeadethUs Original. Based on the prayer form litany. There are several really good ones out there praising God in all his aspects. I'm catholic and somewhat influenced in my form of verse through that lens. If I was looking around for material for metal. In your style. I would actually look through the old testament prophets Some of Isaiah and many of the other prophets have sections that are calls to arms. If you want a more militant bend to a song. If you wanted to run a more narrative song type. Samson is a very metal character. + The prophets have several extremely metal old testament events. When fire came down and consumed all..... The water, the stones, + the sacrifice. ..... If you don't mind pulling from the apocrifa ( the books the protestants decided to leave out) The stories of maccabees and Judith + tobit. Are all excellent inspirational ties for metal songs. If you haven't done a song on Acts 2 17- 21 And the Joel quote. Could be fun. Then Stephens discourses in acts chapter 7. Sauls conversion in chapter 6 of acts. Good for a bit of inspiration. Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10- 17 Is a classic. All ideas up to you what you want to mess with. You have your ideas and processes. @@gmanbo Dang, those are good ones. What I've been doing is focusing on hymns for this album, since they are ancient and unites all three main branches, Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. I'm modeling the album after the Mass, and used the Scriptures from the readings on Epiphany, which again, all focused on Christ to keep our separated brethren from fretting, and still liturgical enough for Catholics and the Orthobros. But yes, I'm looking a lot at the Old Testament for some of this stuff, more suited for heavier music.

@@HeLeadethUs Then the litany christ the king. And The litany of Christ crucified Are excellent sources of material. Also In the Orthodox and Catholic Mass sets on Easter vigil mass. There is a sung litany..... . It's not all in my head right now for the Catholic one however from what I understand of the Orthodox creed the litany on that day is even more ornate and beautiful. I think there is a litany to angles. And saints.... Some saints can get a bit dicy + our protestant brothers + sisters likely wouldn't understand the context of the song / prayer.
