Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine were the first Latin explosion in the mid 80’s that lasted for a decade. Long before the late 90s explosion with Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias. Please do more Gloria! Anything for You is a gorgeous ballad
Their “Dr Beat” video is probably my favourite music video of all time. So much humour, craziness and catchiness in four minutes. It always makes me smile 🙂

over here it's much more a classic party tune than any other Miami Sound Machine or Gloria Estefan tune. It stood the test of time. I didn't even chart over here in Germany, though Dr. Beat and Bad Boy became Top10 hits. Germany was not ready yet for Latin grooves.. but it became an absolute floor fillers the years after and remains an absolute must play for every summer party. She is now ell known for her Latin albums over her.. especially Mi Tierra and Alma Caribena...
You have put it so well together in words! All the instruments did deserve their own part in this so classic song! It really is a song that really never gets old! You can play it anytime any year for years to come! I really love the Estefans!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I used to play trumpet in hs more than a few years ago lol But always loved her band with the trumpet in there...love the song and definitely her!! She's awesome singer!!
Hey, if you want another 1980s hit to react to, consider Kim Wilde and her 1986 cover of "You Keep Me Hangin' On" (originally performed by the Supremes twenty years previously). It's a classic.
