It’s been my understanding that The Gloria is a prayer that is sung. You all should hear the way it is sung at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Graham, Texas.
This is my favorite version and closest to the way our parish sings it most of the time. We have a few different styles, but none (in my opinion) are better than this one. It is very uplifting. Thank you for posting it. May God bless you and yours!
This is one of my favorite praise hymns. I just played it in thanksgiving to God for coming to my sister's aid when it appeared that she would loose her job after nearly 20 years. She just got news that she still has her job, and that she will be getting a raise. ALL GLORY TO GOD!!!

Why the 16th Century costumes? I could understand the costumes if they were singing Tallis or Gabrielli, but not a 20th century composer like Marty Haugen.
Can anyone tell me what this arrangement is? It is what I grew up with in the Novus Ordo. I'm currently planning the sacrament of marrage and want to be able to direct our music director to this arrangement. Thank you all in advance.
Tony in Tasmania the Gloria (glory to god in the highest) is actually a prayer that is said at mass and there are many different sung versions of it. This one in particular is mass of creation (if you don’t believe me then look it up on here and listen to it)

This Gloria song is being sung on every Eucharistic Service in catholic mass except those in Advent or Lent. All the catholic faithfuls are familiar with this Gloria song.
