After going to a few Catholic Masses as a Protestant in RCIA, I did not fully understand the true presence. I walked into an FSSP parish during Adoration on accident. I was overwhelmed. I then went to a Mass there the following morning. That parish and liturgy taught me a lot about the Eucharist. I could no longer deny its truth
The Tridentine liturgy has helped me better appreciate the Novus Ordo. Both forms are beautiful. And the people who prefer one to the other can all learn from each other if open to it. I had a similar experience where I didn't at first fully understand the meaning of the real presence, and the parish I was attending was more traditional. I knew there was something special going on though. It wasn't until I read what many of the saints said about the Eucharist that I became more and more aware. I now attend a Novus Ordo and my awareness has not left. Learning to understand the Novus Ordo has increased my devotion to the Eucharist. My priest often said that we get out of it what we put into it, and I think that is true. Other liturgies can help us better understand the one we attend by seeing the different expressions of adoration.
I am a Word on Fire devotee and Bishop Barron is one of my heroes, so I was looking forward to his speech more than any others that night. What surprised me is that I found Gloria's speech to be the most powerful, most compelling, most convicting of the night. What a gift she is to our Church!

This past year our priest was constantly challenged by parishioners, who just didn't like the way he was doing things. He suffered for us in this. I have struggled with this a lot, it was personal to me. People said they were not being fed and I was looking for an answer, your words, "love without qualification" "even if you don't like the way we are doing it, you should prefer God's company, even if you don't like how we are doing it, Gods company should be enough." "GOD's COMPANY SHOULD BE ENOUGH" gonna have shirts made. Thank you thank you thank you.
Amen. Some just like to complain. And you can tell because even when attending a place that does it "better" they still complain - both about the new place and the old. There is no satisfying them. But, once they are conquered by God's love all of that goes away because His company is enough. St Therese of the Child Jesus would get distracted by noises easily. Instead of internally complaining even to God, she used her own annoyance as a meditation on Christ's passion. We all need to be more childlike. I was one of those complainers. Maybe not as bad as some - but internally I always got upset about what wasn't being done based on my own preference. Eventually it just sort of hit me: that just because I liked Gregorian chants and motets didn't mean that I couldn't also find joy in hymns and praise and worship music. I decided to try and be in the present moment and just be grateful. You know what happened? It brought so much joy. I started to see the happiness of just seeing people try to worship and do their best. Now I get a joy out of most musical choices done at Mass. I just want to be like a child coming to Christ who has no control over how the adults put an event together. I just want to do my part and offer my heart to God.

I listen to her talk two times and Gloria really nailed it on a lot of concerns for Pope for Unity among the races because we all are made in the image and likeness of God. thank you Gloria
I have watched several of these speakers from the National Eucharistic Congress. I wish I could have been there to see them in person. All of the speeches I have watched so far have been amazing, but this one really touched my soul. She is so right -- put away all of our differences because the one, most important thing we all have in common is that we are children of God, we are believers in Jesus, and we are all made in the image and likeness of God! Amen and Alleluia!

I love this talk for a couple reasons ! One is her words and stories, loved when she said she is stuck to the Lord and will not go away….I just said the same thing to my sister….He is stuck with me because I’m not going away.🤷♀️ The other reason is that my cousins went to Cathedral Elementary School. When we young and visited them we went to the school because the taught there for many years and we went to The Cathedral to Mass many times 💕🙏💕
