Glorious Grafham Fly fishing April 2022

My 1st trip to Grafham in 2022 and what an amazing day it was. Fish from start to finish. Bright day, wind picked up as the day moved on, 16 degrees air temp. Most fish falling to one of three point flies;, white shrimp with gold beaded head, Damson with beaded head and a Cats whisker. 15' leader with two droppers. Rio Gold floating line. Greys GR60 10' 7 weight rod. Boat fishing on this reservoir is such good fun so if you haven't tried it give it a go.

Nice video. The only thing that baffles me is why you need to stand up to fish??? One slip and you could be in. There’s not many people I know that have have ended up in the drink from a boat seat!!! Cheers

Hi David I had a full replacement shoulder 2 years ago, I struggle to lift my arm above shoulder height so have the rod almost horizontal out to the side when I cast. Standing gives me height I need. Add to that I have a bad back and struggle sitting for ny long period of time. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍

Hi Brian, thanks for your comment 😊I have three Greys GR 60's 1 x 7 weight and the other two 8 weights, all three 10ft long. I really rate them but cant say I have much experience with many other rods to make a comparison. Tight lines yourself. Fishing in Mauritius soon so hopefully put a few exotic vids on.

1st, nice to see another video. How long is your leader in the boat compared to on the bank and likewise is your dropper spacing any different? I've never fished off a boat. I'm thinking about it.

Hi Brian, good to get back out and make a new video. Leader is around 14 ft long, 11lb Seaguard flouro. 1st dropper 5 ft from point, 2nd another 5ft. I tend to fish the same bank or boat but I am no expert. Seems to work for both. Give the boat a go, its a great way to cover lots of water.
