A video displaying the Zaporozhian Kozaks and their warrior traditions. This video is made to honor them for protecting the Ukrainian Lands from invasion and slavery. SINCE 1480 AD.
I visited Ukrain in the early 2002. I fell in love with the country and the people who would welcome us with such open hearts and kindness. I wish Ukraine all the happiness and prosperity.
I can only say your bravery has not lessened a bit through the ages. My admiration and respect goes with you, dear Ukrainians. Slava Ukraini! Greetings from Estonia.

Yes, but a lot of zaporozhian cossacks immigrated to current russian territories. Zaporozhian cossacks from chernigovskyj regiment immigrated to south of voronezh region and created slobozhanschyna (name for territory of kharkov, part of sumy, part of lugansk, south of voronezh region, belgorod region, part of kursk region). Also the rest of zaporozhian cossacks in 18th century immigrated to kuban and created kubanskoje kozachje vojsko.
The Zaporozhian Cossacks wrote that wonderfully insulting reply to The ultimatum of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet IV that they surrender to him. With such illustrious ancestors it's no wonder the Ukrainians will never be defeated by Putin.
@annapeppard2400 If ukraine existed before russia ancient rus is Ukrainian language except it’s not 😭😂 Ukraine Remade their own language and mixed it with polish Hungarian Romanian Belarusian and russian it seems like symon petliura was you’re source 😢😂🤡
Cossacks are a very interesting part of the history of Eastern Europe. It all started with that the villagers, trying to hide from the tyranny of the landowners, fled to the wild steppes of the south of modern Ukraine, and in the end everything grew into one of the most powerful and combat-ready troops in Europe of its time. It’s just a pity that many people, especially in the USA and Western Europe, confuse Ukrainian Cossacks with Russian Don Cossacks, although they have almost nothing in common with each other.
As a folk song, it is called many names like "Ой розвивайся та сухий дубе", "Розвивайся, зелений байраче" And in this video, its name is "Розвивайся, зелений байраче" About the lyrics... Sorry, I couldn't find any translated things. What I could find was only Ukrainian version.
@@paulusharedsamosir9304 Hello i gave it my try since my language is simillar (I'm from Poland) BUT this version in the video has many aditional verses that are not present in all lyrics around the internet (i don't know why..) there are aditional references to certain campagins against turks and such. And it was kinda hard to script along singing (ukrainian language is far more understandable for me in written form) So all i can give u is lyrics of standard version. Oy bloom you, dried up oak Tomorrow shall be cold Oy get ready young Cossack Tomorrow you shall depart (into battle i guess) I am not afraid of cold Here right now i shall bloom I am not afraid to depart Here right now i shall depart Oy bloom greenish oak On the edge of grass fields Oy get ready young Cossack U shall depart from Ukraine Farewell my daddy, farewell my nurse (child's caretaker) Farewell Ukraine! As i am going into battle Maybe i shall fall there (die) Oy willows willows Falling down Oy you young boys, glorious Zaporozhian Cossacks Come back home Oy you young boys, glorious Zaporozhian Cossakcs Farewell, good bye You shall not be forgotten in the stories The Cossack Lineage!
Just make sure that all people in Ukraine understand what happened in 1734. That was the first time Russia truly betrayed when it took away right for cossack nation to elect its own leaders. Thatbis why Ukraine is so important to European history. We here up north certainly before or after 1734 could chose our own leaders like the free men of Ukraine did.
What does the word " cossack", mean? or "ataman", anyone here? if you don't know and or have to Google you have no right to comment anything about Cossacks!
