Glossaryck was never on anyone's side. He created a figurative soup of pure chaos and wonder, and he sat there savoring it in every moment like his favorite flavor.
Never watched this show but if you think on the fact he has double the fingers in the cartoon he'd have 10 per hand in a real version, how trippy would that be?
I think I kind of understand that Glossaryck saying that he is not tall enough to go on any ride was actually one of his weird metaphors this whole time. He had all the power and knowledge, but never the maturity and he was not getting any more mature as time passed.
Star also did with the Seeing Eye spell. And as extension, Glossaryck also can just be in multiple places at once, as he shows off in an episode from Season 4.
Omnitraxis too was capable of such feat. Though its natural given him being some kind of space-time manifestation and likely inheriting some of Glossy's own powers.
Honestly, I think it's actually the other way around. I think what could potentially make more sense? Is that everyone was transported into a non-magical world (one that Glossaryck created, where even his "magic soup" is just normal soup). The magical world still exists, but it's completely cleaved from non-magical life. Glossaryck said it himself: a good captain goes down with his ship. Meaning that everyone else was on lifeboats, while he stayed behind.
old guy's prolly gotten tired of dealing with all the bs so he orchestrated the whole ordeal basically to end himself taking, perhaps millions of other beings made entirely out of magic with him. so in other words, he is a rather complex villain and a commentary on immortality.
Nah glossarick created magic with the intuit of balancing and helping life be created however seeing that the natural life like mewnians and humans that were acidents were acting beter for the universe then the magic life like the monster and etc he decided to give them magic and im sure you wont read this soo ill admit im puling this out of my ass no one actualy knows anything about glossarick hes just a kid with the power and knowledge of an all seeing god well continuing and he decided just see hpw it goes hes neutral he to alowed the universe and eveeything he made to folow the course made by their choice
Can't believe anyone let Rhombulus be on the magic high Council. You know, the council that dethroned Eclipsa? The council that continually fucks up? What are they even for.
Magic is selfish, so the council is born to be somehow an order, but you need great power to state the order, and such power can corrupt one's mind... Imagine you can froze everything in time with little to none counter, you never have to be smart since you have raw power at hand
The Council was never on anyone's side but their own, and they ruled all powerful after dethroning Eclipsa. Glossaryck as well, was never on anybody's side, purely an embodiment of order in the chaos.
Bro gave them magic, Of course he had to stick around and make sure it didn't get horribly abused, and when it started to suddenly it disappeared and so did Glossaryck
It's not just Rhombulous. He treats the whole high commission like shit, but I guess that makes sense. If someone had a lot of power you'd expect them to be responsible but like half of them act like children.
You know this is probably the first and only show where destroying magic was the good ending. Usually it is preserving magic or preventing it from being gone or destroyed, as if the source of magic is damaged it will have terrible consequences. But here it was the End goal
The idea wasn’t bad but the execution left a lot to be desired. With the exception of the occasional powerful magical creature, the only people using magic were the butterflies, and so it was really more them being extremely capricious, then anything being wrong with magic in general. They never built up magic being a problem beyond people abusing magic, but the problem is at 99% of the people abusing magic were butterflies, and the butterflies 2.0. And most of those abuses happened off screen and a book that 99% of the fans never even interacted with.
@@braydentaylor3851 didn’t the writer spin a yarn about the pony heads having levitation through gas bladders in the Reddit AMA, where they were trying to cover up the plotholes
You know, in this compressed version its pretty clear that Glossaryck was basically the man behind everything. And, by extension, every bad thing too - for instance, it was he who made a villain out of Toffee. Which means that Glossaryck is basically the actual big bad of the show. Take from it what you will.
@@yoursleepparalysisdemon1828 No it wasn't, IMO, the very opposite is true. Not narratively, because that ending was such a clear ass-pull. Not logically, because that ending made too little sense. Not morally, since that was wrong on most conceivable levels. It was like solving street crime in the neighborhood by dropping a moon on the entire planet. I have no idea how you are going to defend your position.
29:44 “A good captain always goes down with his ship” is the line the show’s creators chanted while forcing Starco on us throughout the series in the worst way possible.
The level of wisdom and power this individual posses is frightening, except the part where he helps for pudding and uses his powers to create some sort sandwich (? 3:15 for reference)
Every time I watch this part 12:55 it hits me in the brain to think about how Glossaryck comes up with a plan unexpectedly. I always thought it was some sort of way that telling from his expression on his face he didn't wanted to be here, but he had to stay not just because of the book, but because to keep StarFire safe from her sister. (My theory from 3 years ago)
I love how he foreshadowed this from the very beginning, but also Earth and muny didn't confine because of magic I think and there was a leading theory that just confirmed that the two dimensions were originally won and that one of stars ancestors was the one that separated them
Not the dimensions but mewnieans were originally a group of settlers (on their way to america) who got lost in the sea fell down a dimensional crack and ended up in mewnie.
Its a shame we never got to actually know more of glossaryk. He just seemed to hang around despite probably being so closely related to the source of all magic
All these squares make a circle All these squares make a circle All these squares make a circle All these squares make a circle All these squares make a circle All these squares make a circle
I think Glossy was literally a suicidal god, i mean, he manipulated all the course of events, created mewni, created toffe fear of magic, just to die in the end.
My favorite scene is when he ends up creating the Muni royal line. Usually it would be this GRAND and IMPORTANT MOMENT in history but Glosseric acts more like he has involve himself with something he really doesn’t want to, like that one neighbor that hugs you but you can’t say no
26:00 I love this backstory of how they became what they are XD It was literally random people getting washed through the magic from earth that just didn't know wtf is up and he gave them the wand so easily... Now they are fighting for the wand so much, while he could have literally make a new one at any point XD
My thoughts are... Glosserick was so riddly with his trainees because... he doesn't have to train anyone. He is the god of the Universe itself and people from other dimensions have become cursed with so much magic from dipping down that they transform into universal monsters... So instead of helping them, he delays the inevitable. Quite tired of it, he simply... disappears until he misses that person he's teaching again.
What does the SCP universe think about destroying magic: -The SCP Foundation says: Magic is what makes up stories, and without stories we as humans would not exist. We will fight to preserve magic, no matter the cost! -The Chaos Insurgency says: “Magic is cool and dope and all, but what if we all could use magic?” *Takes long drag from joint* “What if we all could have the power to do whatever we wanted, with like, no, zero consequences?? WELL, WE SHOULD!!! Let’s steal magical artifacts from the Foundies, wooo-HOOO!!!!!” *screams while running out the door with a machine gun firing all around, shooting all his friends in the process* -The Global Occult Coalition says: “Magic is certainly useful and without it we would not be here, but still there’s a lot of magic that is still super dangerous, especially when it’s in the wrong hands…” *glowers over to Chaos and the Snakies* The Serpents Hand says:………….. *Floating upon the top of a mountain of books, in the multiversal, multidimensional and near infinite Wanderers Library, a lone reader skips through a book entitled “The Intricacies of Magic, and it’s Application to Multiuniversal Travel.” When the individual, dressed in their fine green robes, gets to a chapter labeled “What to do if someone asks you stupid questions?”, the person looks up with an irritated look in their eyes. “Duh”, the reader says, before going back to reading a magical tome about magic and the multiverse, whilst inside an extradimensional library with access to the infinite multiverse.*
The rat page burn? or the Star does one of the most incredible things ever by doing something not even god had seen before while amazingly fitting music sounds?
glossaryck is probably that worlds god, he picks no sides, not biased, and he started everything from the beginning, i mean, he might even be the one who created the time dimension, the boatsman is his son
But fr i feel so bad for glosseric and he's genuinely trying to help. But what i love about him the most is that he put up with every butterfly princesses and Queens of mewni even if he's under-apreciated. And when they didn't take his words for it he'll just let in continue and see what'll happen
7:49 we cannot be sure about that, but maybe THIS is that moment, when he predicted, that he will not be on the final gobelin therefore meaning that the magic will be destroyed and he will die.
that last season felt weird in general tbh Mina being the last enemy was a mistake it should have been toffee they killed him too early and I didn't understand how he was able to mess with the magic
