only1option first step, learn from mistakes. Wilson is a great glove, but just be prepared to buy two of them, because they get to floppy and fall apart very fast. Rawlings gloves are the only gloves that can really take a beating for a long time.

I have a softball glove "Shady Lady"; probably 20 years old. It's in great condition because I only use it to be a buddy to my daughter on the field; she has Down Syndrome, so we play 1st base and I catch the flyers and give them to her. I had it in storage for about 5 years; just pulled it out again and conditioned it for tomorrow's game!

Great video! My favorite Rawlings equipment definitely has to be my pro preferred 12” modified trapeze and my 11year old son rocks a heart of the hide modified trapeze with the mesh back. The mesh back makes the glove lighter and is a great glove for youth. Im surprised that was not mentioned in the video!

Love Rawlings gloves! I still use both my HOH's playing catch with my son. One is from 1988 and the other from college 1993. Of course my 12 yr old son is using one as well now. I would love to win a pitchers glove for him. Keep the good videos coming. You do an excellent job.

My favorite piece of Rawlings would have to be the 11 1/4 pro preferred. I used it from 7th grade throughout high school before it got stolen. However, I love the heart of the hide series as well. There isn't a greater piece of Rawlings equipment than the pro preferred, HOH or gold glove.. although I've never owned one, I've definitely played catch with one. I've only ever owned a GG elite. All great gloves, and by far the best piece of equipment from Rawlings

I was initially worried about the lack of vertical post like most 1st base mitts have but I'm liking it more and more. and the color is just too nice! I'm not a huge mets fan and I know rizzo is cubs and mets are blue and orange..but it's close enough!

H2oFrAnK1 I really like it. bought it on the 6th, had paragon break it in aso style-he showed them his methods apparently tho they said they don't do the hot water thing. 4 days later I honestly couldn't tell if anything had been done to it. they're great guys there but one said 1st base gloves can't be given the beat the crap out of them with mallet technique. so I did my own at home, even tried the hot water, glove oil, beat it with a Louisville slugger little league bat, everything I could and it's almost where I like it. I'm really surprised my p.p. giancarlo stanton broke in pretty good too, that was stiffer then my neck after sleeping on top of these gloves. didn't like the fastbck at first but I do now. but the rizzo model, I can't say enough good things about it. unless it makes me play like him maybe

Listen up fellas, the size or brand of the glove doesn't matter. You have have future and current big leaguers who came out of places like Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, etc who grew up using makeshift gloves! The player's SKILL makes the plays, not the glove! Get yourself a decent glove and go play ball!

I know I'm this is an older video, but I am having an issue with the Pro Preferred glove I just bought. It is a beautiful glove and clearly high quality. My issue is no matter how I try to wear it, the velcro strap is too small for my hand. I have fairly large hands which I know in the video you say is not a major factor, but this 12.5" glove feels like a kids glove on my hand.

My favorite Rawling’s baseball equipment is my Custom Pro Preferred Outfielders 12.75 glove that I designed using Rawling’s Custom Glove app. My second favorite is my Pro Preferred 11.25” second base glove and my 3rd favorite is my 3rd base Heart of Hide 12” Adrian Beltre’ model. It’s all good!

If you're wearing the glove higher on the hand then wear a bigger glove. If you're trying to extend your reach 1-2 inches why not just wear a 13-14 instead of 11-12

Best glove EVER......was the Mike Schmidt model circa 1980‼️ The realest, trueist, most natural feeling, most comfortable, most dexterous glove I’ve ever had on my hand. Me and my friends would fight over who wore it from inning to inning. You had to damn near beat them up just to get the glove back. So comfortable it felt like an extension of your own hand. Haven’t found a glove like it since😢. The good old days

I have very small hands, and I'm 28 years old. Ive always played with youth gloves because they were more "snug" and didnt wobble around. Right now I'm using a marucci 11 inch. Youth glove. Should I not pay attention to my hand size even at my age. I played 4yrs of ball like this and never thought I had any issue. I also have an old school Wilson a2000xlc, which feels gigantic! Haha

I have a question regarding glove sizing. I play Ladies Fastball. I’ve never had very good luck finding a glove to fit right. The problem is I have very small hands. Basically child size hands. My hand measure 7” from middle finger straight down to the end of my palm and start of my wrist. My hand also measures 7” around the widest part of the palm of my hand. Adult sizes are way to big for my hands. And the children/youth sizes fit fine but the material quality is horrible! Any suggestions that You may have for sizing for me, or what to do or where to go to find small better quality baseball equipment/apparel, would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.

side note for young catchers buying mitts, 34” is big. most major leaguers wear the 34”, but at a younger age, 33” is really good, and for those with big hands, 33.5” is a great in between that companies like All Star recommend. (they are a catchers specific brand)

Thanks for the video, hearing the philosophy around glove sizes for youth players dependent on their age helped put things into perspective. That pro preferred glove looked nice too!

I'm about to coach my 4y/o sons tball team. He has a Raulings PL91SR. Can I break in his glove or are youth gloves gonna fall apart doing that? He's struggling with closing the glove.
