I use to be the same way, my thought process was"I work for this money and I can spend it on whatever I want" Now, I'm like, " I care too much about myself to live like this" Living from pay check to paycheck. It was no one but God that I ran across your channel to plant that seed in my mind to get my finances together. I don't want to just work for the money, but I want my money to eventually work for me. My son is getting married next year, and I told him about your channel to help them budget and save money, not just for the wedding, but for the future.. I am 49 and I never had anyone to teach me or tell me about saving money. I started working and going to college at 17. I tried saving money, but, because of the circumstances( We didn't have a lot) it was hard to save. So now, I'm on this journey of budgeting, saving and being debt free. I'm grinding over here!!! Getting my financial house in order. I also told my niece who is about to start college and is working about budgeting. So thank you Jazmine for your videos and taking me with you on your journey because it is really helping me and encouraging me.
I love your story, Jazmine! In the past I never budgeted (I didn’t even know that was a thing). My husband and I got married and we spent money without tracking anything; bought whatever we wanted, when we wanted, without ever planning it out. Years later with kids and multiple vehicles, loans, etc. we kept the same lifestyle. The money got tighter and tighter…one month we found ourselves hundreds short! I was literally scrambling to pay things. I was shocked and confused like, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. I was forced into budgeting, I had no choice. I found your channel and I will never go back to blindly spending! I also feel empowered and financially competent! 🙌🏽
I lived off with the mindset of its mine, I worked for it, and I'm going to spend it how I want. I am tired of living paycheck to paycheck. I have been following you for a little while and you have been transparent. I am glowing up in all of areas of my life and I am going to do this. I was never taught how to budget or how to save, but I am going to break that cycle. I want my children to be able to make their money for them. I am 44 and I want to say thank you for allowing us into your life.
Great topic! At first I didn’t see away but once I examined where my money went I was able to start. It was like everyday was a no spend day. I found your videos 💜💜💜💜💜
Everything you said in this video resignated with me sooo much! 2024 has been my year of financial glowing up as well and I agree with so much of what you said in this.
Just came across you in RU-vid feed and looking forward to watching some of your videos to help me get back to the right mindset to do this. Too many things that have brought me down and I appreciated your honesty in this video.
I’ve been following you from the beginning and I am so happy to see how far you’ve come. We in this together sis. I’m so anxious to pay off my car in October. The closer I get the more antsy I get about paying these last 2 payments. I honestly just want to write a check to them tomorrow but it’s not the smart thing to do because my interest rate is 0% so why am I giving up my cash early? At the end of September I’m done with them.😂
WOW!!! 2 payments left???? Congratulations!!! I know that you are EXCITED!!! I love having no car note...Thank you so much for being here! I really appreciate you! 🩷. It has been a journey...and it will continue to be a journey...
This is something I really needed to hear. I was real discouraged what really stood out to me is when you said when you first started out with just “Pen and Paper” and I thought it was needed to buy all these budgeting tools to start off. And didn’t really have the money to buy these things got me discouraged. But I’m motivated now and knowing that budgeting is not a overnight thing so I’m keep working on it.😊 Thanks Jazmin!!🥰💕💕
I am at age 43 attempting to be more frugal. I have a few thousand dollars saved. I get my next check in early September. I intend to save half of it. I saw a bluish gray used 2007 Honda Accord 4-door sedan selling for $4,395. I want to buy it on my own.
Love the video, I use to be the same way in the beginning for a while with my finances awful. I have changed my finances around and started learning from you and others financial influencers on RU-vid. It's hard work have to be focused you are going to have some slips up time to time just learn from it and get back on track.😊
Thank you for sharing your whole story sis! I've been here since the beginning... I've seen your ups and your downs. And I always respect you for the fact that you keep trying and keep going! It is so very inspiring to see how far you have come in your journey. I have a little bit of debt myself that i am working hard to pay off. It feels slow sometimes and I do fall off at times but I always get back up and keep going . And you've helped me over the years with that. My husband and I have come a LONG way from where we were... we had our first child in our teens and our second child in our late teens/early 20s. And we moved into our first place together which was an awful basement apartment. Fast forward to now, we've built up our networth to where if we wanted to we could retire (i am 44 and he is 48) or slow down and work when we want to work kinda thing, we've owned our home for over 15 years now and we are quite good with money (except for the bit of debt I have). Our mindset about money and savings and investing has changed drastically! I love where we are now in our mid 40s. You've inspired me so much to pay off the rest of my consumer debt in this last year especially. Keep up the incredible work sis! You're almost done with the debt! 🙌🏽🙌🏽💪🏽💪🏽❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽
I been watching alot of your uploads lately. Am be honest, am struggling mentally and financially. I been doing my cash envelopes and it seems everytime I get a good amount in them. Something happens and wipes my envelopes out... had a great emergency fund and boom car issues. Now to the present, my job was eliminated. Yes I have interviews lined up but my mindset is just gone. Am frustrated, depressed and am this close 🤏🏾 to just given up. I just don't even know where to go from here.
It’s okay to have to start over it will build up over time just be patient, as someone who has the tendency to want change to be fast and easy it’s been a tough pill to swallow having to wait but you’re not alone and just keep going don’t stop!
Jazmine, this is an amazing video! Thank you for your journey from then till now. This is my confirmation to keep going, slow and steady 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks again❤❤❤❤❤
Heyyy Bestie!! Thank you so much! Whew. Yes, it has been a journey! I thank you so much for being here with me along the way! Excited to see what God has in store for us in 2025! I pray that He blows our mind...
Great video! I never really did any money challenges during my debt free journey because things were just too tight but I want to start doing them. Maybe the $1 and $5 challenge. The only thing is I never carry cash. I do everything online with my banking because my bank is pretty far. How would you recommend someone do one of these challenges without cash on hand?? Maybe you can do a video on how to do this if it's possible. Keep up the good work!
Which of your videos breaks down the zero based budget? I’m a newer follower and I’m learning so much! This month is my first month doing a complete spending tracker so I can create an accurate budget starting next month!
After losing my job and turning 41 lately, I'm at a turning point in my life. What options do I have for making big investments now that I have $425k saved for an early retirement at age 50, $10k in an HSA, and a property that might provide an extra $200K?
Not going back to work. I'm unsure whether to consolidate all my investment accounts into one. If I do, how should I handle it and what should I be aware of? I also plan to sell my property, which could bring in an extra 200K over time. Should I combine everything into one account or spread it out across different investments?
These are key questions for a financial planner. I connected with mine at a summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our 1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and brokerage account. She’s been managing the investment with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. Currently hodl’ing steady and cautiously navigating the market
Thank you so much!!! I did not list the people but here are some creators that I would listen to...Some are still on the platform and some are not. Shay Budgets - youtube.com/@shaybudgets?si=6hNX9uO2O1UjcQXs Michelle Elaine - youtube.com/@shaybudgets?si=6hNX9uO2O1UjcQXs Just to name a couple
Were you tithing in the beginning? If not, what shifted your mindset on that? I see the work God has done in your life. I believe my faith is my issue in this area. 😶
