Please make more videos on Glowforge. Your very easy to understand and listen to. I want to buy one but first educate myself before making this huge purchase. I plan on getting the pro and using it to make income. Thanks for your time.

I have looked at the ads for GF and thought it was cool. But then I saw the price - : / I was thinking I will never get that ever. Then I saw one working at a store I went into and was just mesmerized. I then got excited about all the potential it had and I have with one. My husband actually thought it could be a good investment because I am pretty good with all my other craft machines. I’ve been making things my entire life, I can always figure it out. I just wanted to say I appreciate your videos for their clarity and understanding. I am a big researcher when it comes to this kind of purchase. I keep gravitating back to your videos.

great video! I have been trying to figure out how to adjust to not have such deep engraves that take so much time. Would love to see video on the other settings like that it was perfect!

So isn't 1/8th inch say pine wood, 1/8 inch pine wood. So wouldn't the settings inside glowforge work on the "non grade proof" material? Seems to me they took all of the questions work out. Except of course I'm sure their material doesn't have knots. Thanks appreciate these videos!!!!

Yes, good question. I don't use their proof grade materials anymore, I get mine elsewhere but you're right, if I'm cutting 1/8th pine that I got elsewhere I just use their setting for 1/8th pine and it's cuts just fine. All my guesswork is taken care of.

Ya that's what I was thinking. What do you find to be the best wood to work with? It seems a lot of folks like birch...

@@frankgatto4092 Yes, birch is very popular. Check these people out. smokeyhilldesigns.com/ Wood specifically for laser enthusiasts. I get all my wood from them. My personal favorite is MDF veneered with walnut. I like to use real wood when I can but the dimensional stability of MDF is hard to beat.

Thanks for a video! Please I need advise. I want to buy a 6k model but I still can't decide. I make stencils on average 40 stencils a day. Is it really easy to insert png files in app with selected size? Thank you!

Yeah, it’s super easy to bring different file types into the app at the correct scale. You can also scale your object in the app with a decent amount of precision too. What program do you create your png’s in? As long as you have it the right size when you export it you won’t have to mess with the size when you bring it in the app.

Is it pretty easy to make your own custom designs? Could you possibly make a tutorial for that? Like idk maybe a holiday ornament or something with a name?

I own a Cricut and am considering getting a glow forge also and so far from what you explained it seems like the software is somewhat similar to design space by Cricut. But I make everything I do custom so I want to know if that’s easy to do with a glowforge

Good question, the Glowforge app allows you to select your settings etc everything you need for successful cuts. They recently released a subscription based design suite that works inside their app for $20 a month. It's very exhaustive and is definitely worth it if you make and sell fairly basic products, but it's not great if you need to make more intricate custom designs.

I haven't cut any of those materials myself yet, but the GF can definitely cut different kinds of fabrics.

Hey, do you happen to have any information about a chart to regulate the depth of engraving? They have the speed and power options however nothing actually quite describes the actual depth measurement?

Hmm that's a very good question. I've seen several charts on color and such but never one on depth. I'll reply back on here if I come across anything.

They've applied the discount before to others who have already purchased. Email customer service and just say you forgot to use it and see if they'll take it.
