You have no idea how much this tutorial helped me with regards to the drawing part. I need some help! Im not sure what I did but now whenever I draw on a new layer it won't show up in the composition. The first layer shows up no problem but when I add any more layers it won't show up. Any suggestions? Ive tried looking it up but nothing I find seems to fix my issue. I have even reset my preferences in after effects. I guess my next move will be to re install.

The Babeh it should already be in the after effects, just search glow in the effects panel

11:40 - when you can see all the brushstrokes, would it be possible to just move each of them further along the timeline and add brush strokes in between to make it smoother, and slower? as this particular example is too fast for my liking, however i do know its quick example which is why im asking

Yes, That is exactly right. I did not go into that in this tutorial because it is for beginners like in the title but you are right. You can drag them out if it is to fast and you can just paint the frames in between. One thing you can do is duplicate each paint and space them out to make the animation twice as long and it will be slower. One other neat trick. :)

what’s worked for me is to duplicate the original video (including paint and glow effects) and changing the blend mode of the copied video to screen and having the “paint on transparent” tab on hope it helps!

Make sure your paint channel is on RGBA and now RGB otherwise the paint won’t be able to glow
