GlowShift Gauge Installation in a 5.9 Cummins 

Now that it's 5 years later how did they hold up? I hear 50/50 on their quality. But I don't want to spend a pile of money. I have isspro in my other pickup which I love but they came with it. So wasn't an extra expense.

If you live in the mountainous areas, the EGT gauge would be your most important gauge as EGTs will meltdown your engine if you're pushing a lot of fuel through it. That being said, if you have not modified the fuel "intake" capability, then EGTs should rarely, if ever, get out of hand. Cummins went WAY overboard on the conservative side with the 5.9L diesels. Also, note that a 7/16" wrench is the same size as an 11 mm wrench, I swap one for the other on a regular basis ;-). Thanks for sharing your experience on putting these gauges in this truck. I'm about to do the same thing with my 1998 12V 5.9L. Really appreciate your input!

My 2000 Silverado and 2006 Sierra both had the light switch wired that way. The headlights were always hot. The switch on the dash grounded out the system and the lights came on!

Only other thing I could recommend is swapping over the halogens for leds. They're dirt cheap and really look nice in the 80's 90's and early 2000 trucks. Not just for a cleaner look but functionality as well.

I run a Five Star tuner on my V10 F350. What I find is I don't really need the horsepower gains, I do need the locked converter and the shift control it has....I pulls like my old 7.3L diesel did. Just brute force, no down shifting every time the wind blows. I do pull HEAVY trailers...I can also de-tune about 50hp for some fuel economy when it's empty....No wrenches needed.

Dude a lift pump saves your injection pump.

I had that fuel filter set up on my 99 3500. like the one on my 01 better. however 00 and up don't have the port for the gauge. you can tap it to the vp44 but a snubber valve is a must.

lift pumps aren't just for performance diesels. it keeps the CP3 and injectors happy even in stock diesel, and prolongs life, and helps keep water an air out. should be your next purchase before anything.

if you haven't already rectified the situation, may I suggest just tapping the gauge lights into your existing cluster lighting? Thus you could use the dimmer tyo set thelighting to your liking. Looks great, though!

Trans temp is good to have as well on them trucks.

I have a 2001 24v and I just don't believe the oil pressure sender and gauge at all. I have read its just a switch. I was hoping you would deal with it but then, yes, I do remember that the 1999 used a true pressure sender. So, not sure what to do...but I hate what its doing now, always shows pressure and its always the same, fake as hell.

Don’t know if you got it yet but the dim wire in the headlight switch is an orange/brownish color

Looking to get these for my 99 as well. Looking into ISSPro and autometer but these are more in the budget.

I hope them guages work out for you. I had a set of them and they were junk. the egt did not read right. I now run all autometer guages it my trucks

So did you put the glowshift T push lock into the injected pump feed line with the snubber? I have 1/2 FASS fuel lines and that’s what I did and it seems to work just fine! I did kinda think the glowshifts are cheap but they do the job! I went with Banks gauges after that first glowshift and they are really nice and Banks has great customer service which is big with me! Hanks for the vid cause it’s guys like you that make it easier for the rest of us! Oh FYI FASS or Air dog are the absolute best thing you can do for you truck! Should be very ones first purchase and that’s a no brainer! You like clean water to drink and it’s the best for you well same ideal! It will give you 30% more life out of your rig!

Might consider replacing that plastic tube with some copper tube.

I am about to buy 2002 4WD dodge Cummins and I was told that I would need gages and a Fass Fuel pump and so this video was great and helpful thank you. The three gages I think i will need will be fuel psi trans temp and ET temp!

I just bought the same kit and noticed that you installed the fuel gauge line on top of the fuel filter housing. The instructions I have say to put it on the bottom. Did you put it on top just for the ease of it or for some other technical reason? thanks

how did you mount the triple a pillar gauge mount? I bought one to and it doesnt have the hooks to attach to the a pillar.

Does your truck have a trans temp gauge? If not why didn't you get that instead of boost?
