Perhaps it would be good to mention the need to clean the area (and lightly sand) before applying the JB water weld

It’s beyond ‘perhaps’, it was a critical failure of this video not to mention it…

Wrong. The purple product IS the cleaner (and primer). And it's better to have a completely smooth surface instead of one with micro abrasions and small loose particles, which is what you'd get if you sand it. Nice try though at pretending you know what you're talking about when in reality, you know absolutely nothing and are completely wrong.

Is the water weld putty good for long term repair or temporary only? I have a tight space where an ABS drain joint began to drip, wondering if this can be my solution or will I need to have it replaced?

Hi Arsen - My oldest repair is 2.5 years old and I've had no problem with it. Water Weld sets up rock hard. In all cases I have applied the Water Weld in a ring, completely encircling the pipe. My thinking is that Water Weld has adhesive properties and by encircling the pipe it is also effectively clamped on to the pipe. -- Don

YOUR DRAIN PIPE joints should NOT be dripping. The water should flow out of them quickly. I there is a drip at a joint (esp in a verticle section), it would seem that water is collecting above the joint - that is 'backing up' in the drain system. Are you experiencing SLOW DRAINAGE perhaps? You might want to rn a snake down that drain line to see if there is an obstruction. Of course, there shouldn't be an opening for backed up water to seep through at a joint in the drain pipe or in the piping itself.

@@notcharles Mine was at a P trap. It would slow leak until water got low enough below leak.
