I for one want to see how they properly heal the transom and the glass weight and schedule as well as the material used (type of wood/foam core/remboard...ect). I'd also like to know if they are using a skim coat of cab-o-sil or if they are using the proper 3 coat soak wet roll out. Either one is good and I tend to take the short cut anyway. Thanks

I've spent 10 years building super yachts in Italy and I can't tell you how inspiring for the workers it will be to have you two there helping on the build ✌️, not only will it raise their morals it'll ensure you get the best build possible. I'm so happy to see how happy Riley is at this moment. All the best guys, so many adventures to look forward to.

@jackblah5842 Год назад
This is fantastic behind the scenes coverage of the build that highlights the craftsmanship of these fine workers, but do you honestly thing Riley jumping in the "help" inspires them? I've built homes and boats and I think the last thing I would want is the owners 'helping out'. For me every time they were in there helping to me it just felt unnatural. Showing interest and documenting makes for better content IMHO.
@steveburlace4518
@steveburlace4518 Год назад
@Jack Blah yeah 100% it'll inspire them. You spend all your time building these magnificent vessels and wonder where they will go and if or how much the owners will appreciate the work you put in. Just knowing they will be able to follow the adventures of this boat and see where she goes is inspiring for someone putting the work in every day, and it's lots of work! We had an owner do a similar thing with us once, and he wasn't nearly as happy as Riley, but it brought us immense joy even though he didn't have a clue what he was doing 🤣. But above all that it'll give Riley an intimate knowledge of his boat, a level of intelligence that you can't purchase with a finished boat that will help him immensely in the future.
@jackblah5842
@jackblah5842 Год назад
@@steveburlace4518 Thanks for your thoughtful response. Being able to follow your work via their RU-vid channel is immeasurable, and I am now understanding your point about working alongside the owners, that there may be some camaraderie there. I think where we differ is I believe this could be achieved without actually trying to do the work but I get your point. Nick from Ruby Rose is doing an amazing job of documenting the build of their Seawind and has gone so far as to learn to speak Vietnamese. I can't wait to see both vessels on the water.

@Kevin Grimbeek Tight enough that they had to drill holes inside to let air escape when the akas were inserted. As the inserts appear slightly wedge-shaped and the amas were pulled in with truck-size ratchet straps, I suspect the surfaces bonded as completely as any vaccuum-bagged layers.

That way you don’t have to cut into your hall to change anything and it makes it easier to place your dinner there and also if your dinghy would ever get stolen and you had to get a new thing for your boat you don’t have to worry about it fitting your whole exactly, you can always redo the dinghy chocks if you had to it would be a whole lot easier

Bisphenol A is linked to the imasculation of the human species. Its an estrogen mimicker!!!!

People were complaining about this in the comment section of their last video as well. I think we shouldn’t be too quick to judge or criticize this high quality team and factory that have gone above and beyond to be accommodating. I started paying attention more closely, while watching after seeing comments like this, and if you’ll notice all of the massive bay doors at the end of the factory are wide open while they are in there working and filming. I do not think this is an enclosed space without ventilation and airflow from those massive bay doors. Working construction with my dad growing up, if we had doors like that open I’m sure my dad wouldn’t even have been wearing any mask at all lol the masks they are wearing and provided, coupled with the through ventilation, seems more than sufficient!

@@sailingtimshel its not about the team its about the Bisphenol. It is found widely in the water tables of population center sewer lines. It has been linked to male human infants not dropping reproductive organs. It is an estrogen mimmicker. Its looked down on in the US now so companies work with it in developing countries.

Custom sliding windows that are water tight would work . Do you need to have windows that open outwards ? Still get your opening windows you’d like .

Loving watching your journey guys. My wife, 3 children and I have been living on boats for 8 years. Mainly on the canals and rivers of the UK. We now live in the gold coast Australia. I'm a marine sparky. Please please please do a video on everything electrical to do with the boat.

Riley, To solve the problem of the two aft windows that cannot open outwardly because of the dinghy, install large port style windows that open inward. All boats need as much fresh air as possible to circulate throughout the inside of the boat to help cool the interior during the warmer seasons and climates. As I'm sure you know already. Namaste.

Build a trailing extension to the hull for your dingy to nest in lengthwise instead of perpendicular, it'll add more space too. Nesting area could even be used as a small pool or bathing area when dingy isn't being stored. Fun little pool for the kids. All your windows will open, plus. Could be raised even with the deck or built lower towards the bottom of the hull. Glue it in place or have it a removable piece.

Maybe the thing that's so cool/different is that if this were being built in a US factory, or probably just about any other first-world country you'd not be let in the factory to participate so intimately with the process due to safety regulations and such. I can only imagine the additional pride of being so involved in the process of the build, not to mention the clear familiarity with the boat that you'll have before it even touches the water.

Amazing boat information. Loved the pole in the tender, thought for a moment Elayna was going to do a pole dance. Very game riding a scooter in Vietnam...it's sort of risking your life... You'll need a good relax back in Bali.....everything is so exciting. Once you are on board the new Tri is when you will work out the what's and should’ve done. Good luck. Lots of love N N Jude xxoo

This is so cool you guys can be there when new boat is built. There is not many videos out there what show the actual building phase like this, so huge thank you for great insight. I would love to see the whole engine / water maker side when it is getting installed etc. Other than this, interior decoration side would be really cool as you are going with very unique style, that really intrigues me.

All of the boat build is equally fascinating to me. If I had to choose, I would say the rigging and the electronics would peak my interest just a tad bit more. A mesmerizing project, very complex and seemingly complicated. Making changes on the fly at this current stage is really cool as well, the perks of being on location to see first hand all of the details concerning any changes considered. Great episode guys, keep em coming. TY!
