This week I wanted to try making a traditional dump cake with gluten free cake mix and almost thought it was a fail. Instead, it turned out pretty good! I will definitely make it again and use less cake mix and drizzle the top with melted butter instead of sliced butter. I believe it would make for a better presentation and a shorter cook time. I definitely recommend making this!
Ingredients
1 box of gluten free cake mix (yellow, white, or spice)
2 cans of pie filling of your choice (21oz cans)
1.5 sticks of butter melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 350. Coat a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or oil. Dump 2 cans of pie filling into the baking dish and smooth out to evenly cover the bottom. Sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the pie filling (I recommend using 50-75% of the mix). Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Bake for approximately 30-50 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
*I had mine in the oven a total of 60 minutes but I recommend using less cake mix which should lead to less bake time.*
