Currently seeking treatment, it’s been 5 months with PT no positive results same pain, doctor says my MRI shows no tears. Anyway you can take a look at my MRI ?

At first my MRI showed no tears. I went and got a PRP injection guided with ultrasound. When he injected the fluid he confirmed that I had "Micro Tears" based on the way the tendon/tissue separated as the fluid was injected. Don't assume that you don;t have a tiny tiny tear just because the mri doesn't show one! It's a crappy feeling to be experiencing pain and then get results that say everything is "good".

How long does that take to heal usually?

I had a steroid injection in the bursa in Feb 2023 thinking it was hip bursitis. I have had that and IT band syndrome flare ups for many years. In May, I went to see my ortho doc that did my knee replacement. He diagnosed it as IT band syndrome, again, and sent me to PT. That did not help and in July, I had an MRI which showed a gluteal medius tear. That MD referred me to one of his partners that specializes in that sort of thing. Again, I was sent to PT to help strengthen the surrounding muscles. Within two weeks, I could barely walk and surgery was scheduled for early September. It is now five weeks post op and I am still non-weight bearing and using a walker. The pre-surgery pain is gone and I'll be on this walker till Nov 1st. I am in PT doing isometric exercises to strengthen everything on the left side. Suppose I'll have to relearn how to walk when I'm done. So, to answer your question about how long it takes to heal...three months post surgery. Mine was 2/3s torn and a piece of bone had broken off and was floating aroung in the socket area. The MRI did not show that much damage.

I had a spontaneous full thickness tear of the Left Gluteus Medius. Most likely resulting from my Ankylosing Spondylitis. I have chronic Enthesopathy in all the joints from the last rib down each leg to the Plantar Fascia on each foot. I had no incident that might have caused it and no extra pain to speak of.
