GM Ben Finegold's Gambit Series: Queen's Gambit Accepted

That's a good video format, not many chess RU-vidrs do this. A quick video about a precise line of an opening. Chess opening videos are mostly long in depth videos, often 5x or more lines than this so you forget a lot and you only get to learn about one particular opening at a time. 5 smaller videos on different openings is easier to digest. I'm not ready to play the Queen's gambit or the Blackmar-Diemer after watching both videos but at least I learned one or two important lines, and I now know how the opening begins as well, I only remembered the Blackmar-Diemer by name since I've never encountered it. Perfect for a club chess player who does not have much time to study.

Very nice. Please do the Botez Gambit next, I always have trouble understanding the theory on that one.

I got taught to play E4 instead of E3. That way you take over the centre, black however than can play C6 and try to hang on to the pawn a bit longer. They can even play A6 after A4 and sac the exchange and target your E4 pawn with their bishop. It's never happened to me yet but I still half expect it every QGA

Hello sir - I have been enjoying your videos today, and am pleased to say that I may be your newest subscriber. :) As I am sure you already know, providing that White moves 3. e4 rather than 3. e3, 3...b5 is actually its own little gambit, and quite a fierce one! White does get a ~1 point advantage, however as you and I are both fond of saying, this is not meaningful in a fast-paced game where White would have to play perfectly, and if Black is prepared...just take a look at this: 4.a4 c6 5.axb5 cxb5 6.Nc3 a6 7.Nxb5 axb5 8.Rxa8 Bb7 White has only one good move here that will maintain his small advantage, and he will need to continue finding some difficult moves. Black has some very difficult-to-find moves here as well, but if he is prepared...!

This is my favorite chess video format.

5:00 Worth mentioning black must immediately defend against the threat of Bg5 skewering the queen. So that's yet another tempo. Most king moves walk into bishop or rook check. Only real defenses I see are h6 (weakening the G-file and further locking in the black-square bishop) and Nd7 (don't see any major problems with that one, other than the general indefensibility of black's position).

I play e4 instead of e3 in the QGA and those lines are really fun too!
