Really great video showcasing the Renaissance Center. Thank you for sharing! Our most iconic building and you truly are at the top of the world here! The RenCen always reminded me of the WTC Twin Towers complex of New York and also same era. This is a very special place and building part of our history!

@@tomhext1229 Same here. Just went back there again a few weeks ago to show a friend around who had never been there and to eat at the top at the Highlands again. Another wonderful visit and dinner.

I must agree. I always was fascinated with the RenCen ever since I was very young. This place is such a staple and woven into the city skyline. Seeing this building and you know its Detroit.

The old summit restaurant, Had many wonderful memories there. When it was a revolving restaurant.

I'm always amazed at that too. I go here often and they're always there. Very neat. I read online some refer to these informally as high-rise spiders and they're known to engage in "ballooning" where an individual spider can be carried a 1,000 miles on a light wind and two to three miles above the earth (10,500-16,000 feet). The spider can stay airborne over open ocean and colonize an island. They let out silk, and depending on the length of the thread, and how they spread their eight legs, they can catch an uplifting current and basically fly.

Delicious. The place is great. The HIghlands is the restaurant on top of the Renaissance Center. It used to be the Coach Insignia and the Summit before then. Reservations typically needed for restaurant but no reservations needed for the lounge which ample seating. We just walk right in, grab a table and order. You could just get a few pops and enjoy the ride up and then the view of the Detroit and Canadian skyline, Detroit River and Lake St. Clair. A nice date night or just chill, hang and chat. There's also a bar area. Great food and service. Glad it's back open again. 👍
