I was having the exact same issues with my truck (even shut off exactly the same with wiggling the plug). On inspection (with a magnifier), all the solder joints looked OK. I re-sweated all the solder joints anyway, as sometimes the joint can look fine, but not carry enough current (or any current). I added solder if it looked like it needed it, and didn't even bother to clean off the red crud on the circuit board. I also bent the trailing contact arms out an additional 1/4" so as to make better contact with the "parking" slip plate (my wipers were sometimes turning off, but in the middle of the stroke). On reinstall, everything works perfectly, including the windshield washers. If it stops working anytime soon, I'll post it here. Thanks for the video!

I just repaired mine(1996 Suburban). Same exact issue and super easy repair. I had to look REALLY close with a magnifying glass and the crack was still hard to see... but it was there!

Thanks for posting. Right now mine is intermittent and though I planned on taking a stab at the board rather than buy a replacement next time it failed, I'm now far more confident I can repair it.

This is exactly what mine is doing now I won't go on a wild goose chase I know now what to do thanks a million for the video it saved me alot of time and money not to mention head ache and frustration .

I just bought a 90 Caprice. The guy put a light switch in that u have to flip the switch then turn on the wiper. i'm thinking this might be why? Lol never seen anything like it before in person. Only on tv.

Strange how ALL 1988-1998 Chevy trucks didn't get recalled for this. Only 1995+ (over 2 million vehicles!) . I call B.S. on GM for this.

My 1998 Chevy Cavalier's wipers will turn on when I turn them on but won't shut off when I turn them off until I turn the car off. Right now I have to get to a red light, turn off the car, and then turn it back on before the light turns green. The mechanic wanted to charge me $300 for a new wiper motor

Ok I believe I found my issue , there is an axial diode with #9949 and also 22059733 that is broken. How do I find a replacement. Don't knoe its value and could not cross reference it.

2002 Malibu, wipers work in in full mode. Intermittent doesn't work at all. Is it the switch or the control module? How do I check each to make sure?

I Followed the video exactly replaced the circuit board with a new one, and This didn't fix my problem! When I turn Off the Wipers, they go to the Slowest speed and every 30 seconds they cycle once and stop, but continue to do this! The only way to stop it is to disconnect the Plug from the Circuit board! Signed Frustrated! (1992 GMC 1500)
