Always do it ur self if ur mechanically inclined now my fan turns on when I start the trailblazer everything works tho fan engages when it gets to 212 no over heating isn't heating temp sensor im baffled
Easy fix really, no need to remove the battery or brace or cover. You will have room to take out the bottom bolt of the alternator even with the a/c hose close to it. Then you can get directly to the thermostat housing bolts from there and you might as well change out the temp sensor while you are in there because you will have access to it without having to do this same process all over again when it fails. It will take more than 30 mins to complete from start to finish in my experience, maybe an hour or so. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this video I just got this antique this year and had the problem with the thermostat and seeing those videos about several hours of work really made a difference when you put this video out. You save me some time my friend thank you so much
Just take the alternator off takes same amount of time by the time your done messing around jacking the car up taking the wheel off trying to play pick a boo through the inner fender .
When I did ours that one alternator bolt was about an inch longer than it needed to be and was a pain in the ass to get out past the ac line so I cut about 3/4in off of the bolt went back in much easier. Have to replace the thermostat again I might try it this way seems like I did half the work through the finder anyway
Thanks for the info. That being said, you left out important information. The screws for the thermostat must be torqued at a certain pound, which I believe is 11 pounds of torque. When taking on these jobs, you must be experienced, or you will destroy your vehicle.
