Many of the GMC Yukon came equipped with the 4L60E automatic transmission. Unfortunately, this transmission has a number of problems, as it ages. However, with some TLC, this transmission can be restored to its former glory.

Mine 2002 Denali... It shifts great to all the gears but if you really floor it and it goes down like 2 years it just feels like it's slipping and it makes a clicking noise. Is that the 3.4 clutch or is that my torque converter so I just drive it slow for now... Runs great engine wise... Could be a lifter but I doubt it. It just feels like transmission

I'm trying to pass emissions and at the same time while I was doing a tune up the transmission decides to act up I replaced a and b solenoids, tool scanner said solenoid a is stuck in off mode I lost reverse 2and and 4th on a 99 chevy Tahoe I think it's the sun gear and sun shell if so I dont know what to do because I do not have the funds to fix it think I would be ok going to junk yard and trying to find one and swap it out or what would you recommend and I also think it's making my emmisions fail because the guys dont know how to let it up shift to 3rd gear I explain it to them let off throttle at 25 mph for a second while it upshifts then press throttle again but these guys ate doing 35 40 in first gear and then letting off throttle to upshift dont know if that has an effect but it keeps failing emmisions now never had that problem before just did a tune up

I have a GMC yukon 2011, I can't find out the problem that why the transmission is heating up even though my transmission has been overhauled, but it's still heating up. any suggestions?

It's hard to say without getting more info from you, and inspecting the vehicle. Just shooting from the hip, it has me thinking... 1). Torque converter: The torque converter is the greatest source of heat inside the transmission. If, for some reason, the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) is not applying (or turning ON), the converter will generate extra heat. 2). TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) slipping, or slipping excessively (some models are supposed to slip, some are not). Slippage (or more slippage than originally intended) generates a lot of extra heat. 3). Restricted transmission cooler. 4). Engine overheating. The engine and the trans share a cooling system...so, if the engine is overheating, the trans will overheat, too. 5). Manifold Pressure Switch: It's equipped with a temp sensor. Dr.Shutter trans additive , May be a patch but have seen it work several times.

That's a bummer. The GMC Terrain is equipped with a different transmission (6T45 or 6T70, depending on engine size). For faster response times, leave a comment on my main channel... Southpaw Autoworks: ru-vid.comfeatured
