Hi How's first charging of battery go?on this baby. I just got one of these things and out-of-the box - the battery has 2 bars on it. I'm using it up, so battery power runs down to no bars showing but still on and powering the radio on. I will then place it on craddle to recharge it to full or for 4 hours (manual guide's recommended charge length time expected)) Is this good to do? As I do not believe there is not a right method to do to a new battery on first charge. I've read the user's guide or manual for the battery's part. But it doesn't tell me anything about how to and what to do with rechargeable and follow a procedure to maintain high quallity of battery storing.

You'll read all sorts on how to manage battery life, most of the concern about managing this relates to older SLA batteries but there isn't as much concern with Lithium Ion batteries as what is included with this radio. I'd recommend charging it up from new, each time prior storing it and as needed whilst in use. I have recently heard that leaving lithium ion batteries on charge overnight each night isn't good for them. Believe that if you will but I've been charging my phone overnight every night for the past four years and I still get a day of life out of it. ~ Ben

Can you use the (GME ACC6160) Accessory KIT on the (GME YX677)?
@SnowysOutdoors

I don't know a lot about these accessory kits sorry, but GME do specify that the ACC6160 kit of only for TX6160X radio variants, which would suggest that it will not be suitable for the YX677. ~ Ben

Microphones can be a handy option - feedback on GME units with the microphone are generally pretty good. Personally havent heard any negative feedback ~ Lauren

Can this be suitable for a construction site, from below to 45 floors on a hi rise Bldg being built?

If you can see each other, then yes, but if you inside and there's 45 solid floors of building, it may not work. ~ Lauren

Whats the range ??? How far can both person can talk to each other ??

GME don't provide distance specifications, are there's no universal answer and a whole host of variables that can affect this, not just hills. A quick google search shows that 5 watts will generally cover you around 10-15km at absolute best....eg. flat ground with no trees or vegetation. You're best to use this as a rough guide. ~ Lauren
