Siocast was first featured on the Vostok, a large Remote for Infinity, but has now moved into their Mech range of large models as well. Let's see how it holds up on these larger casts and what they look like next to some of the Infantry range!

Fwiw Siocast is injection molded not spincast, though the mold material is similar to the softer molds used for spincasting metal.

Dangit, the Marut has me seriously considering Aleph. These siocast TAGs are awesome, they look so much easier to work with than metal. Can't wait to see the Gator!

I am cautiously hopeful for this material. I might have to order one of these and one from the Rivenstone, need to see how different modeling approaches work.

Hope not, works great for bigger models but for the smaller stuff metal is superior.

@@anab0lic oh right, I’ve never worked with it before so I am not sure what it’s like on smaller things, looks lovely and crisp on these models though. Sadly I’ve never enjoyed metal models, I have loads of old warhammer ones from back when I had no choice, but definitely prefer plastic, am okay with resin.

@@kahlelveadiltureth4216 It's very much inferior to metal when it comes to the crispness of details. Might be fine for the larger stuff, but nothing S2 should be done in siocast.

Were are you from? I mean you can get a start set like Operation Kaldstrom, or Crimson Stone shipped in to you from almost anywhere. Just get either one you want, and start playing with friends.

No, trust me you do not want that...its a shit show with that soft material. You will end up with all sort of lines and marks were you did not intend them. But hey, I am not holding you back if you never the less want to go for.

I want some for of plastic for the infantry as i am so bad at building small multi part metals(prefer single piece metals even if their posing is limited)

I love both those TAGs, my onl y issue is the Morat TAG looks like he'd have to walk really awkwardly, cos the pilot in between his legs!

The legs of that 2end TAG were not cleaned. You can see the SioCast nubs that were not removed.

These look really good. I wonder if you got a particularly goo cast. I’ve seen these reviewed by other youtubers and theirs seemed to have a bit less detail. I don’t love this material as it’s harder to clean mold lines, but that’s the old hobby grognard in me. I’m sure I’ll come to love them

Was tempted to order a Marut but my retailer has it at £36.95( RRP without discount ) and is metal. While I assume this is old stock to be sold off to make way for the new Siocast stock, I'm wondering what Siocast means for customers regarding price. Would it be the same or more expensive?

The Vostok...really hope for a single release version. Don't need any other model from that box. Hope the Salamandra holds up in Siocast. These ones look awesome.

Szalamandra likely won't be in siocast soon. They're only releasing new models in the material and the szally is metal and very recent.

GMG, did you buy these yourself at the local or online store or were they sent to you from CB? It might be an important distinction for the reviews to prevent them from cherry picking the absolute best casts to send you for reviews that might be above what the average customer finds.

@@actualwafflesenjoyer @Waffles Enjoyer Finecast would indicate otherwise. Not everyone reads forums/blogs or watches videos like this. For years, I'd meet average joes in the FLGS that didn't realize finecast was so bad just because they didn't buy much of it and lucked out in their one model having "only" one miscast that was fixable or just thinking they had bad luck getting a miscast but relying on the old stellar metal quality for decades.

As much as I love the looks of them; how they operate I do not like. The pilot is like right there! They're exposed! I'll stick to my Blackjacks; thank you. Seeing those in siocast would be great to see.

As an Aleph player I can tell you that the Marut's piloted remotely, it has four arms just because it tries to represent an Indi goddess.

Do we know the pricing on the siocast vs metal? Will they be comparable or are we going to see a change in the pricing structure (either increase or decrease) on siocast models?

So far the new siocast models range from basically the same price to pretty significantly cheaper than comparable metal ones

That’s something they’d either need to outsource, at which time they’re exposed to shipping issues, or invest in, which is a MASSIVE income output compared to this. I don’t think high impact styrene would offer that much more than what we have here and it works great for a company their size financially.

I’m just hesitant with this new material. I’ve had softer plastic models turn to crap trying to remove mold lines. I need to try the back of the scalpel technique.

These look amazing. Hopefully this is a sign that CB is moving away from metal miniatures. It's literally the only thing preventing me from getting into their games.

When they cast all their models in this material, I will play Infinity again. I love the game... but the metal models seriously edges me out of the game. So many good games... no one has time for those metal models.

I think you're missing out, the metal minis are CAD designed and fit together easily.

@@DeepGreenX I played N1 - N3, and had full Aleph, PanO, and Haqqi armies. Joan of Arc and swiss guard were my fav. But the game has such a high skill floor and skill ceiling that it is already difficult to get new blood into the community, and the metal models turn off people who are used to GW plastics. It is a matter of time management, I can't spend the amount of time trying to advocate locally for Infinity when 90% of people won't play because of the metal models before I even start trying to explain the complex rules.
