At roughly 20 seconds, I heard John Oliver saying "Welcome, welcome, welcome!!" in my head. It's a pretty good song--I didn't know there was a full version until I Googled it!

I never knew this was an actual song with actual words until I just watched the season finale of LWT a few minutes ago. I just thought it was a composed piece for the show. This is about to get a whole lot of play from me.

This song is so random. It never even dawned on me that it might be a real song with lyrics and an actual band behind it until just now, when I watched last night's episode and they were on the show. I still ended up typing "Valley Forge" into the search bar, but Google got me here anyway. Praise Google, for not taking more than a month of work from a show that you only do one night a week.

This song is wonderful and catchy. The xylophone and guitar hit the spot. How did I not come to look for it before? I would heard it on "Last Week Tonight" every week, bopping my head, but figured it was original to the show. Great idea for the season 1 finale to play the rest of the song at the end of the show. Great song, Valley Lodge!

My heart was kind of broken when I heard there would be no more LWT with John Oliver this year, but this song kind of makes up for it. Instant happiness!

I have only watched snippets of Last Week on youtube. Decided to download the whole episode last week, immediately went to look for the intro song the first time I heard it and I couldn't get it out of my head. Great song to start a day with. I am going to check their other stuff now finally. EDIT: The whole album is amazing. I'm usually into different, melancholic and depressing stuff but this album makes me smile and do a little awkward dance moves. That doesn't happen when I'm sober. Good job, @ValleyLodgeBand

I woke up with this melody in my head and had to find the full song. I found it to be a great song to start your day with and I loved the lyrics and video. Some are haters but I also thought the Japanese added depth to the song and made me like it even more! However in the end I was brought here by John Oliver too but left a fan of the band and the lead singers stand up! Great job guys and " keep making music you want to hear" that's how you WIN at life!

Funny thing is, I found Dave Hill through his funny shorts on Facebook and loved his humor. It wasn't until much later that I learned that he wrote this song even though I've been a Last Week Tonight fan for years. Oh, and I also learned that he opens for Tenacious D!

This YT video, for example, only has around 500k views which is a drop in the bucket compared to the LWT views on YT, not to mention those who watch on HBO cable or Max.

The song and the show remind me to have hope

Judging from the comments and the lack of views I guess a lot of people (me included) thought this was just a jingle created for the show. You would think a show on HBO and a catchy song would bring a lot more of attention to this band.

Weirdly, I actually found this video because I was a fan of Witch Taint, and I as looking up more info about Dave Hill. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Dave was also behind this song, which I know and love from the John Oliver show, but had no idea was somehow related to Witch Taint. Kudos on the versatility, Mr. Hill!
