I finished up this Yerf Dog go kart cart restoration. Started by stripping it all the way down to the frame, painting, and added a bigger Honda GX engine with some LED flood lights and ground lights. I think this one turned out pretty sweet.
Didn't have to make too many modification but I did weld some parts back together. Used my Harbor Freight Vulcan and yes their cheap 125 welder.
The model number for this kart is 3203.

Recently got the same go kart for my kids. Had my 14 yr old son put a new engine and torque converter on and the love it. Nice job on yours inspired me to do more with my sons

I know this is kinda old but next time you could always use a billet adjustable motor mount plate, typically used on mini bikes, for the motor placement. They are a little pricey but worth every penny!

I think that one had a GX270. Sadly i don't have it anymore, one of those sales i regretted as soon as it was gone. Other than the governor taken off no other mods.

That's a loaded question, how much do you want to spend? The more money more and better options. If you only have a couple hundred for a complete setup you are headed to harbor freight!

@@crabtreemedia8169 how'd it go with the welding? My uncle let me borrow a Chicago Electric Flux 125 and an Arksen 100 amp (yeah right 🙄) AC stick welder. Honestly I'm digging the stick program even though I can only push 3/32 6013. 6011 blows through no matter what I do. I'm personally going to upgrade to a 110/220 Amico Pro 200 DC 100-250 volt unit so I can use 1/8 7018 and get more accurate welds.

@@fatbuddycat thats awesome man. I bought the titanium 125 and have welded with it quite a few times and I love it. I'm planning on learning stick next, which means I'll have to buy another machine, which will probably be another titanium branded machine.

@@crabtreemedia8169 I would have bought into a Titanium stick but the only welder HF had was a Titanium 200 Stick but it was 220 only, I want 110/220 so I can use it anywhere.

I can't remember the sizes but I pick stuff up from ebay and bmi karts, if you have time look and wait for deals that pop up on local classified ads.

Best place is to search used karts on local classified ads. If you need something in a rush than ebay, amazon, or bmi karts

Sorry I don't know the exact color but I think it was like a cherry red or fire engine red, or was a rattle can from Walmart.

I'll have to do another video of another one with more details. The electric starts aren't too bad if you delt with small engines before. You just have to get the right parts.

@@ahmondeboxley2950 those are pretty similar to the Hondas, you just need to get the one that is similar in size. For example you probably bought the 212cc and matches the Honda gx200. There are a couple videos on yt showing them put on a predator.

The parts and shipping is what gets me. BMI is better priced on some parts and GoPoweSports kills you on shipping. So i shop mostly between 3 stores for parts. Tires and rims on ebay.
