Go tell it on the mountain Go tell it on the mountain Over The hills And everywhere Go tell it on The mountain That Jesus Christ is Born 1, While shepherd's kept their Watching over silent flocks by night behold throughout The There shone a holy night Go tell it on The mountain Over the hills And everywhere Go tell it on The mountain That Jesus Christ is Born 2, The shepherd's feared And trembling when lo! Above The earth Rang out the angels chorus That hailed the Savior's birth Go tell it on the mountain Over the hills and everywhere Go tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is born 3, Down in a lowly manger The humble Christ was born And God sent us salvation That blessed Christmas morn Go tell it on the mountain Over the hills and everywhere Go tell it on the mountain That Jesus Christ is Born

The best version I ever heard was my son's 4th grade class "belted it out" for us. Now that our guy has passed, we sing it joyfully and remember Christ birthday and our son. He always loved Jesus, We miss you Chris. RIP Dear Son, a true gift from God!
Found this somehow by an episode of Welcome to Flatch due to a recommendation of Father Joseph to Mandy to sing a nice uplifting hymn for the people at the retirement home. I'm glad I did. It relaxed me somehow. Thank you.!
II'm 50yrs old, my faith has been shaken numerous times throughout my life, my best friend, father, and older sister Effie all passed away from 2020-2023, my heart was broken and I was angry with God, but I've renewed my relationship with the almighty and I speak to God everyday now, my faith is stronger than ever before and I can feel God's presence 🙏 God's love is the only thing that's ever saved my life. Be well brothers and sisters, God loves us!
I can imagine those in the VA and WV hills in towns so small of years past that the brethern would have to sing this very song outside in the snow because there was no actual church building for service. Go! Go! Announce! Go now, Go tell it on the mountains Jesus Christ is born! Praise Him Jesus is LORD.
