Making Banh Xeo with Fresh Coconut Hearts and Duck from the Farm
Went out to the garden farm to pick coconut hearts and catch a duck to make Banh Xeo (Vietnamese traditional food) for my friends who are coming over. When it comes to Vietnamese cuisine, it’s impossible not to mention Banh Xeo, a dish with a fragrant, rich, and crispy crepe-like shell. The unique feature of this dish lies in its filling, made from two main ingredients: coconut heart and duck meat.
This dish is typically served with fresh herbs such as La Cach (Vietnam mint), fish mint, and cucumber, and dipped in a sweet and sour fish sauce seasoned with garlic, chili peppers, and carrot. The harmonious blend of sour, spicy, salty, and sweet flavors in the fish sauce creates an irresistible taste for Banh Xeo!
