Goan patal bhaji / Chonya cha ros known in konkani is famous Goan Breakfast served with Pav / puri along with Mirchi bhajji at almost all local cafe's in goa.
Do try this goan breakfast recipe - Patal bhaji / chonya ros at home
Note ► This bhaji also goes well with steamed Rice so do try with Rice & pickle
Ingredients ►
½ cup White Peas (Vatana)
1 Potato ( optional )
Masala to Roast ►
Oil
5 Cloves
8 Black Pepper
1" Cinnamon Stick
1 Dried Kashmiri Red Chilli
1 tsp. Fennel Seed
1 tsp. Coriander Seeds
1 tsp Cummin seeds
1 Big Diced Onion
4-5 Garlic cloves
Some Diced Ginger
½ Fresh Grated Coconut
Raw Rice
10g Tamarind
Add the above masala to mixer grinder & then add
¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
Tadka ►
Cooking Oil
¼ tsp. Mustard Seeds
¼ tsp. Cummin Seed
10 Curry Leaves
Paste ( Masala that we roasted & Grinded )
Add Boiled White peas & diced potato in to the gravy
¼ tsp. Jaggery
Salt to Taste
Let the Gravy Cook well for 10 min
Coriander (for garnishing)
Serve it hot with fresh bread / Pav
