New Orleans, Louisiana metal band Goatwhore live at the Factory, Sydney on March 27th 2015. Produced & Edited by Shane "Swanee" Thomson & filmed by Blake O'Farrell & Don Thomson. Full set coming soon...
Saw em again this evening... Still one of the best live metal bands... They opened for Gwar, and just musically and energetically were the better band, imo of course XD I could care less for dress up metal musicals i guess! Goatwhore was by far the most impressive band tonight!
GOATWHORE are in my opinion in a class by themselves when it comes to their genre of "black metal". I have never really considered them "black metal" more like swamp thrash with a dash of black metal and a ton of originality. If you haven't listened to their very first CD I highly recommend it, "Invert the Virgin" is still one of my favorite GOATWHORE songs.
So tight and metal. I wish more bands would leave out the guitar overdub when they do their solos. It sounds sooo great with only the bass playing rhythm.
Yeah, I love it too, it works cuz you don't have the guitars competing in volume wars, (especially in shittier venues with uneven acoustics) and you could still hear the low end groove. Plus, it has an old school feel to it as well.
+Statuatory Grape (KTF0) Man, So well said. I also really dont like it when you have people in the audience shouting at them to turn an instrument up. I saw Nile recently at a small venue, fucking killer show and theu wernt too loud. But I guess its just a gamble of trying to be louder than the drums but not too loud where u cant hear shit. I have a hard enough time making out nile's low end fast riff notes as it is on the album. Mid range/higher notes no problem. But ive seen so many openers where they have their gear so loud every thing just sounds like noise even though their fingers are all over the place. Is this my problem?
