Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I like these tours. I can remember going to my grandfather's farm in north central Minnesota. He had a dairy farm with about 40 head that he milked, they were very involved in 4H. Small operation I know, he moved from South Dakota where he started to farm with his father on the original homestead when they opened up the Dakota Territory. Yes, the original homestead is still being farmed today by descendants of my g-grandfather.

Suffice it to say Zak, your content is absolutely fascinating, educational and off the scale interesting. Also for the added bonus of being allowed to observe the life of children who are raised on farms. Speaking of toddlers, kudos to her parents and grandpa for their constant vigil in keeping her safe and distracted! And to you, for including Onyx in your outing. Children that are raised on farms in Minnesota, and elsewhere, are to be envied for their confidence. As always, thank you for your, and your families, efforts on our behalf, they are appreciated.

Thanks Zack, that trip down memory lane for me my second job after leaving school was working on broiler farms, i understood all they were saying and doing, only issue would have been not cleaning out the last shed every time they took the birds to the processing plant, we had to empty the sheds, the thing was they held 17,000 birds every time and there were 12 sheds on the farm. I have fond memories of those days, thank you again Zack.

Kudos to Oakdale Farm and Ferndale Market for their transparency. As a range turkey grower in Southern Missouri I know first hand the risks involved in growing birds on pasture. The USDA definition of "free range" is a small enclosure next to a barn that the birds can access. I especially applaud this family for not trying to pass that model off as if the birds were out on an extensive range or pasture. Your integrity is refreshing. May you prosper for many more generations. Jim Protiva
