Even when we followed the Ismaili system we were never so strict with dasond as back then my father had burdens of rasing his own family and support his parents although he always believed he should pay it.

I will always stand by my Imam, Ale-nabi, Aulad-e-Ali. My imam lives in my heart. He is loving, kind, polite and humble. Always taught me good and never speaks badly of anyone. He is very tolerant and merciful, just like RasollAllah. I love my Mowla just like many other Ismailis and our Mowla loves us even more. Call me blind, brainwashed, but matters of heart and soul can't be described. As a Muslim you need to study the Holy Qur'an with its authentic commentary. You need to study the biographies of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and his twelve Rightful Successors (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all). Then you compare your Imam/guide /leader in the mirror of the Book of Allah, the sunnah of the Holy Prophet and his twelve Rightful successors/vicegerents (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all). Do not be scared to ask questions. Do not be a blind believer. If you are following a wrong guide or a leader without a thorough investigation, you will ruin your hereafter and there is no question for having a second chance either. The best gift Allah has granted us human beings is aql (common sense). Do not be stingy or economical with it.

According to Islam, zakat is to be given at 2.5% of the income by every Muslim but I guess the extra 10% is for his lavish lifestyle. Also, in Surah Fatiha, in one of the Ayats, it is clearly stated, “Thee alone we worship and thee alone we seek for help”, then why are Ismailis obligated to use his name in the dua/namaz? His Serena hotels openly serve alcohol at their bars yet he condemns consumption of alcohol? Just wonder, how much money is taken out of a country like Pakistan on a annually by the Aga Khan foundations and how much is invested in? Visiting Pakistan, I have seen many religious debates between the Shia and Sunni but I have never seen Agha Khani representation on TV, does anyone know why? Also, I Wonder why the Iranian Mullah dislike Ismailis?

Your understandings and interpretations from Ginans are inaccurate. One example is that Imam is not considered as the deity Allah, He is the noor (light), the guide, and the gateway to Allah. Undoubtedly it’s clear from all your videos, that because of your anger and frustration, you are trying to spread misconceptions, misinterpretations & misjudgments. You are only exploiting the online informations and trying to monetize on it. You left out and missed out the inner esoteric meanings and deep symbolic understandings. You didn’t seek, find and see the truth. Your research is incomplete and mostly on the exoteric side, one example is that you didn’t explore into the du’a meaning. you probably reached the tariqat, but you never touched the haqiqat. What I don't understand is why does it trouble anyone else what the Ismailis do or pay. It doesn't bother them. As matter of fact the Ismailis progressed in every aspect of life even Financially even after paying Dasond. Clearly the Ismailis are doing something right.

I think this is quite unfair. I am not Agha Khani but I have interacted with many Agha Khani, not once have I heard one say he is God. I have only heard this from non Ismaili Muslims. One could say they are a bit clannish but otherwise they are quite a hardworking and progressive group. Religion can be difficult, the best policy is " live and let live ".

Khums: Holy Quran. 8:42 Know that whatever spoils you take, one-fifth is for Allah and the Messenger, his close relatives, orphans, the poor, and ˹needy˺ travellers, if you ˹truly˺ believe in Allah and what We revealed to Our servant on that decisive day when the two armies met ˹at Badr˺. And Allah is Most Capable of everything. ************** This is from Surah Anfal. Anfal means spoils of war, maal e ghanima etc. This was necessitated after Muslims got lot of Spoils of War following their win in the first ever war with the pagans , the Jung e Badr. Hence this Surah and this Ayat Since in this Ayat 20% of the loot goes to Ahlul Bayt , this has been taken seriously by the Shias. Another justification is the fact that Zakat and Sadaqa are prohibited for Ahlul Bayt, Aal e Rasool and Syeds This acted as alternative funds for the Syeds. Till the last century wars were a regular feature and Syeds were getting this regularly. Shiaism divided itself into many sects. All the sects harped heavily on this fund and the head of the community would reap lot of benefits from it. The Molvis of all Sects of Shiaism issued Fatwas to include earned and saved money in Khums , although it is not in conformity with Quran. Also most Shia Molvis try to ignore or downplay the Wajib Zakat and give more importance to Khums. Except Isna ashri all other sects adopted this approach. As a result heads of sects like Ismailis, Dawoodis, Zaidis, Bohras, Khojas, Agha Khanis became rich. Agha Khan, Syedina Burhanuddin, Mufaddhil etc are among the richest people in the world. Usuli Shias : Al-Mufid, Sayyid-al Murtada, and Shaykh al-Tusi in Iraq, were the first to introduce the Uṣūl al-fiqh (principles of Islamic jurisprudence) under the influence of the Shafe'i , Sufi and Mu'tazili doctrines. This thinking was introduced in Qum in 17th century by Al Kulayni and Al Sudduq. For the first time the Concept of Ijtehad was introduced in Shia Islam. The Safavids rulers of Iran supported the Usulis. The other Isna ashri Shias were marginalised. Then they copied the Hierarchy of Clerics from Catholics and started a System of Molvis. Molvis, Mujtehads, Marajas etc The Naib e Imam. There was no Nayab e Imam from 10th Century till 17th century A.D. Although in his last letter to the last Naib during the Minor Occultation or Ghaibat e Sugra, Ali bin Mohamad Sammari, Imam Mehdi ( in 939 AD) has clearly written that ' he ( Sammari) will die in a week, complete all pending works , that Imam Mehdi is going in Ghaibat e Kubra, that there will be no Nayab e Imam after him, that he will appear only when Sufyani will be ruling, that during this period he'll not be in contact with anyone, that anyone claiming to have seen him or met him is a liar.' Since 17th century the Molvis of Usuli Shias have been holding the sway. They have given themselves the power to issue Fatwas. Then to control the Community they introduced: * Taqleed. * Vilayet Faqih * Sehm e Imam. ( Molvis take it ) etc Unlike the heads of sects like Ismailis, Dawoodis Zaidis Bohras Khojas , they don't demand 100% of the Khums but 50% of it in the name of Imam. As a result these Molvis are amassing wealth. To broaden their Scope of Income they also try to fleece the people who earn haram money. They say " If some haram money has got mixed up with your Halal money then if you pay Khums from it, the entire money will become halal. " Since many rich people earn the Haram way they fall for this. How can Ill-earned money become halal It's impossible. If someone is stealing, cheating, usurping others' properties, taking bribes, doing injustice, taking dowry, taking interest, taking bank interest etc he is answerable for the sins he has committed to earn this ill gotten money irrespective of whether he gives Zakat, Khums or Sadaqa out of it. Islamic Sharia doesn't work that way With due respect to all the Molvis I would like to reiterate that Taqleed of any Molvi is not a must. You can consult them in case of any doubt regarding any aspect of Islam. But whatever the Molvi says is his opinion and not binding on you You can accept his suggestion or not accept it. And whatever opinion he has given is only for you, it's not an order, or a verdict and is not binding on others And what are these Molvis doing with the huge sums of money they are getting from all over the world. If we are building a Masjid, an Azakhana, a Madrasa or whatever and when we ask money from them , they don't give anything but just give an Ijaza for us to collect Khums locally. In countries where they are living they mostly have more money than their respective Governments. They just amass the wealth. They don't spend it on anything like Hospitals, Schools , Colleges , Orphanages, public utilities etc It's okay to follow them in matters of religion, but why should we give them money ?. Give that money to the poor and deserving instead. I give the Molvis the respect they deserve. No more, no less . Prophet Mohammed brought only one Islam And these Molvis divided it into sects and sub sects and it's continuing to be divided further. Don't call me Akhbari, Malangi etc. I'm not. Just ponder over with a neutral mind you'll realise how these Crafty Molvis are taking you for a ride. ......... Askander

As a Hindu I worked for an aga khan university in London. It was like being in another world. I was a vut obsessed readong about them and their duas especially as a Gujarati person. its your fault that if didnt understand ismaili philosophy,the role of Imam of the time. here are some genuin misunderstanding you have commited. 1)in ismailism The role of Imam is like spiritual guide like the one(shams Tabriz) who was a spiritual teacher ,guid of Maulana Rumi,although Rumi was a great religious scholar,Theologian,philosopher but when he met Peer shams Tabreez ,he recognized that there is" a knowledge " that cant be gained through books or stuffs like that which he can only get from a true Spiritual teacher ,thats why such a great Scholar has to accept an ordinary Faqir as his teacher and he dedicated all his spiritual achievements to that simple ,Faqir thats the world knows a Peer shams Tabreez ...so one thing is clear the need of spiritual Guide is only observed by those who are in search of spiritual enlightenment like Peer Nasir e Khusraw who left all his positions,possesions and spent his life in search of that Spiritual Guide that we ismaili Call as "Imam of the Time" .Ismailis call Imam as " Imam of the Time" not God as you are saying...so here is the big blunder you are making that isnailis call Agha khan as God,thats not True at all....if you believed that Agha khan is God then its your lake of knowledge ,you dont need to generalize it to all ismailis ,it was your opinion.. 2) there is no such pressure on a isamili brother or sister to pay Dason,mehmani or anything like that,if thy want to pay happly then its good but if they dont want to pay it,then there is no such pressures from the jamati institutions...here again you made a blunder.... 3)all the business you mentioned dont belong to Imam alone,some of the business belong to His brother,like Sareena Hotels etc.. 4)dasond ,mehmani paid by jamat are used for the welfare of humankind with the help of AKDN throughout the word..and this concept is similar to that of zakat in suni islam so there is no big deal in this 5)ismaili philosophy is similar to that of Sufism so the concept of Heaven or Hell are similar to those believed by Sufis so if you have ever read the teaching stuffs from IIS london then you would never talked like that ,.. 6) there is no pressure on those who want to leave ismaili faith but those who want to enter ismaili faith then they have to show their motivaton ,knowledge and other things.... if you were not satisfied then there is no problem in leaving your faith,you can live a life you want but you dont have any right to talk about other,s opinion about faith,beacuse when you left and declared yourself an Agnostic it means those who will obey you will end up being Agnostic so if they want to be Agnostic then they must follow you....now its not battle of ismailis or non ismailis but its a battle of Ismailis Vs Agnostics ,since you are Agnostic and your final destination or your next achievement is toward Atheism...good luck

This video is very inaccurate from my experience as someone who converted to Ismailism. i don't doubt the sincerity of the OP, but this doesn't reflect either my experiance, or more importantly, stands in stark contrast with the studies i undertook before being admitted to the Ismaili tariqah.

Dasond is not mandatory, however is encouraged just like ANY other faith. Whoever taught you this ideology is wrong in doing so, your information is far from the truth! The Ismaili people are one of the kindness communities who want to see real change in quality of life in the east, which is why many families pay Dasond, in order to better their standard of living in developing countries across the world. The word used by the Imam is ‘obligation’ and that words meaning differs to the meaning of the word YOU use in your video which is ‘mandatory’. Our present imam actually states that it is “voluntary”.
