I first heard this song after arriving at the Ft. McClellan processing center in 1987. Hundreds of us in our brand new BDUs and shaved heads all sitting together while the song and patriotic film played on a large movie screen. I'd never been so inspired! Finally getting around to learning on guitar although it's almost impossible to sing it without crying. Those who've lost their comrades will understand.
God bless the USA. Love and deepest admiration from Canada. Lee Greenwood is a national treasure. That song stirs something deep inside my heart. It is so beautiful. 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸 God bless all my dear American friends.
Wonderful lesson brother shane And a wonderful version of the song THANK YOU VERY MUCH BROTHER FOR THIS LESSON I APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH BRO. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY BE SAFE. AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA.
Great lesson as usual, Shane, I hate to keep bothering you, but I was wandering if you might be able to do a song, it isn’t classic country, but my oldest son passed away a couple years ago at the age of 56 with esophageal cancer and his youngest son had them play it at his funeral, Even Though I’m Leavin, I think it was song by Luke Combs, excuse my rambling, others have taught it, but they make it more complicated!
So sorry for you loss John. I lost one of my best friends from high school, Bruce in 2013 at the age of 35 to esophageal cancer. Such a cruel disease. I will absolutely do that one in honor of and in tribute to your son. Take care and thank you so much for sharing this comment and requesting this song.
